Would you consider the Lincoln Blackwood the proto-useless truck?  Or something farther back?

When my kid nearly totalled a car (rear ended a parked Forester) he was in tears, not just from his injuries. Was convinced he was going to jail and we were going to get sued.

I was really about lament just how inexpensive small trucks used to be. I bought a ‘99 Frontier XE extended cab for just over 12K new that year, and the equivalent Toyota was about the same price. One of the funniest things I’ve ever seen on a car involved a Smart car in the Bay Area. Just unbridled Dad-joke funny. Didn’t hurt anybody, and the great state of CA even made a little money on it.

I second the book as being great. Get it from the library though, the author has shown himself to be an absolute nutjob, no reason to give them any money.

Buick Cascada:  19,431 sold, of which 19,430 are in New Jersey.

The $6k difference is worth it to me ($47,500 vs $53,600).
