It also interrupted what was shaping up to be a massive upset—Bolton are in the Championship, just one level below the Premier League. Eastleigh aren’t even in the Football League, they play in the 5th-tier, semi-pro National League.

That works too. How the hell did the umpire miss that from that angle?
Looked like he was going for one of these
Orange County is famously the most conservative part of the state. Romney won it by six and a half points, and their congressman is the infamously hawkish, torture-defending Dana Rohrabacher.
Thank you kindly. The original typo really made me laugh for reasons I can’t explain, and as I’m a poet and bored visiting family for the holidays, it was a very welcome distraction.

WKUK is the most demented show I’ve ever seen, but it’s hilarious.
Yeah, the rule is actually that you must be even with or behind the second to last defender, including the keeper. It’s just that 99% of the time the keeper is on the goal line, and therefore it simplifies to “last defender”
EDIT: Just saw your comment below
In that scenario, you aren’t allowed to pass *forward* to a player who is ahead of you when the ball is kicked. You can pass sideways or backwards, or you can pass forward for a player who is level with or behind you to run onto.
There have to be two opposing defenders *including the keeper* between you and the goal line for you to not be offsides. Since the keeper is usually on the goal line, people simplify it to “one defender,” but in this case the keeper being forward makes the difference.
Eneyema gets nowhere near enough love. In terms of value added by a keeper he might actually be #1—not because he’s the most talented, though he’s superb, but because he has more to do than almost any of those others, and he comes up with the goods again and again.
Thank you. I just posted a similar thing, focusing in particular on the World Cup. Costa Rica beat Italy, beat Uruguay, and took the Netherlands to a 0-0 draw because Keylor Navas played out of his mind. The US were one blown chance by Chris Wondolowski away from winning a game where Belgium absolutely hammered them.…
I’d scarcely be surprised if it was Gerard Depardieu.
I entirely agree that there are way too few defenders on there, but a massive [citation needed] to the tossed-off notion that “the marginal difference between a good net-minder and a great one is much smaller than at any other outfield position.” Just off the top of my head, remember the goddamn World Cup? Remember…
Very well said. The big coup of the digital shift has been killing the used market for all kinds of media.
Just checked, and it’s available for Mac! Will be buying posthaste.
If you’re someone who hasn’t been a serious gamer and doesn’t care about the latest and greatest, you can also buy a last-gem system and get a screaming deal. I bought a PS3 right when the PS4 came out, and have had access to a huge library of very good, quite inexpensive games—and, as someone whose last system was a…
I would argue it’s mostly utter terror at the maniacs in the Republican party that keeps most people who vote Democrat voting Democrat.
