That's the problem. I'd almost rather my team suck so I can stop paying attention early rather than have them have a winning record and shit the bed in the wild card round.

That number seems to get higher yearly.

Same deal in my building. A big tenant just moved out that had an entire wing one floor below my office. I went exploring a few weeks ago and discovered the bathroom down there has the same entry code as ours. It’s glorious. I probably spend 20 of my 40 hours a week down there.

This is Long Island. Everyone is terrible. I should know. I live there.

This just ruined my fucking day. My senior quote in my high school yearbook was from Rowdy Roddy.

He probably should have gone to Mej...never mind.

I hate loving this fucking team.

It makes me feel old to see kids named after members of the Wu Tang are reaching adulthood.

When I played catcher in little league, I got a kid out this way. He missed the plate by about 5 feet. He hung a left towards his dugout before coming anywhere near home.

Did I say he didn't? I was actually more offended by the shoddy reporting than anything else.

Ugh. I’m aware of that. However, when a streak is broken and an article is posted that the streak ended on a fielders choice, don't you think it would have been nice to explain how they got into that position?

My friend’s mom died of a heart attack on a flight to Vegas his Dad. They did the whole “Is there a doctor on the flight?” annoucenment and everything. They landed somewhere in the Midwest, but she was long gone. It was massive and she didn't stand a chance. He flew out and flew home with his Dad and her body. It

That was my thought too.

Did you watch the play in question? Plawecki blooped into shallow center, and Pedersen tried to nonchalantly backhand the ball and it went under his glove. No way anyone goes first to third in that kind of hit. Pedersen got lazy and it cost his pitcher his streak.

You should mention Joc Pedersen’s bonehead error in center which allowed Nieuwenhuis to advance to 3rd on Plawecki’s base hit. He probably gets out of the inning without that.

He somehow looks younger now then he did in The Mighty Ducks.

At least Jimmy “Triple” Dolan has unlimited resources and will write whatever checks Phil wants. He's just an idiot. Not a cheap idiot like Fred and Jeff.

If they were broke (Which I know for a fact through people close to the family, the are far from) then selling the team to an owner willing to spend would be the answer to their problem. What happened is the Madoff thing scared them, even though they made out much better than other people, and they have been in a self

Agreed, but my concern when I hear reports that Alderson was not allowed to trade for Ben Zobrist but ownership would not ok adding his salary unless he could first deal Jon Niese, making it a wash. Zobrist isn't even a star. He would be a decent middle of the order professional. If the could make a deal or two, bring

I’m a pathetic Mets fan. The teams leadership has reached dispicable levels as far as their refusal to spend money. I feel bad for their amazing pitching staff when a guy like John Mayberry is batting cleanup. I “get” that David Wright got hurt. That does not excuse that they did not have a backup plan. The complete
