I would agree with that, but that’s dealing with another set of problems if you are simultaneously lonely and suffering from intense isolating depression. I wonder what the cross-section of those people looks like, but not everyone who is lonely suffers from that kind of depression.

I think the addendum to that rule would probably be any lonely person is susceptible to scams and cults. Our need to belong is strong, and if you don’t have a good support network in place of friends and/or family, then you could very easily fall prey.

I LOVE her Strike series. And the TV show is also excellent, though in true BBC fashion there’s too few episodes per book for my liking.
