There is waaay more truth to your statement than many people realize.
Thank you! My first thought when I saw “these new types of sails” in the article was “wait, but those have been around for like 100 years”. They even experimented with planes that had them instead of wings.
Fun fact: the Flettner Rotor was invented by German inventor Anton Flettner (1885-1961) in 1924. The first ship, built at that time, was the Buckau. They typically use electric motors powered by on-board generators to spin up the rotors.

I went for a haircut at my barber on east sixth st in Austin last Friday. I walked from my office and listened to a podcast. I got my hairs cut. I went outside and stood on the sidewalk to listen to a voicemail. I turned around to walk back to work and some joker, in the 45 seconds I’d been standing there, had parked…
They’re not equivalent situations. To rent a car you still have to provide your license which establishes that you (at least theoretically) are fit to drive per the rules of the road. There are clearly marked and specially prepared surfaces (roads) to drive on, further marked and prepared with things like lines and…

You are assuming that folks actually check their mirrors.
Noob just has the crosswind knob set wrong.
This is good Jalopnik David Tracy!
It was just on Jay Leno’s Garage web series too. I didn’t know there were 4 cylinder Ferrari’s.
The front end just ruins that car.

She had the best stories about her racing life and she wrote great anecdotes about all the characters of the racing world. Between her, Leon Mandell, Satch Carlson, and…
I mean, I get that some people that ride bikes act like idiots. But I rode a bike for almost 10 years as my sole transportation and learned pretty quickly that you need to be very aware of cars and pedestrians at all time and breaking traffic laws is a great way to end up a hood ornament. Jerks come from all walks of…
“Pretty sure that’s an Ofo, dude.”
