Then why have Roose tell him to cut out all the flaying of the Lords of the North and be more chill? They obviously didn’t think this through.

It’s incredibly lazy writing. In the same episode Roose tells Ramsey that his flayin’ ways are getting the North all agitated and we have Littlefinger - fucking Littlefinger, say he doesn’t know anything about Ramsey. That’s crazy and totally unbelievable.
Cisco: what was the result of the investigation? Is there any evidence that the State Dep’t (Executive) influenced a congressional investigation (Legislative)? Did the good citizenship award given by the State Dep’t actually do anything for Cisco? Were the contracts awarded to Cisco part of an open bidding process?
I’ve shared this before, but I got a pedicure (In NYC) last week. Next to me at a manicure stations was a salon worker reading the NYT article, and then a co-worker of hers sat down nearby and they were both looking at it and discussing it. It was totally surreal and I wish I knew what they were saying. Worth noting…
No, you absolutely did not. But the “watch out, it’s the lentil brigade” type comments did.
It’s been renewed and gets pretty strong ratings. No need to worry right now.
I agree - it’s a terrible trap where you’re damned if you do, and damned if you don’t. I just think that it’s important to point out that most people don’t have simple cheap weddings to hold over their friend’s heads and glorify their pinterest boards - they do it because that’s what’s possible.
The difference, maybe, is that everyone wants really nice stuff. Everyone (or close enough to it) would love to have a gorgeous wedding with someone else to do stuff for you and take care of details and amazing food cooked by someone else and cunning little decorative touches and lovely gifts to give to guests and…
My family used to live near the Hepburns! My grandmother (who also went to Bryn Mawr a few years later) once told me a story about being at dinner at the Hepburn’s when someone mentioned that she (my grandmother) looked somewhat like Kate. “Everyone froze in horrified silence,” apparently.
Yeah you are! My breast tissue is too dense for mammograms so every damn time I have to go for a mammo, I go, they tell me I need a sonogram instead, they have to send away to the insurance to get a sonogram approved and then I have to come back. HUGE pain in the ass and it happens EVERY TIME.
Ride, Sally, ride.
Yes.
So disclaimer I’m really high and had a big fight with the Mr. this morning so maybe I’m not really too coherent or well thought out but...
Counterpoint: I’ve been doing pedicures (at home, because I’m broke right now, not because I’m ethical) with clear or nude polish. I love how it looks (fresh, modern) but it literally takes 2x the upkeep to continue looking clean.
30 min/week in a open room is very different from all day every day.
TBH, I’d rather you be right. I’ll get you a ramen burger.
Totally. I guess I just don’t have faith? I don’t trust Cuomo - the point about them being immigrant-owned is that they won’t have much political power, so there isn’t much incentive to expend resources to help them keep the shops open ethically. We’ll see, I guess? Maybe I can practice being an optimist?
Although I see the point, I think there are pretty stark difference with the letter grades. The grades only reported on compliance with pre-existing regulations, not new ones; they don’t give the power to actually shut down (the Health Dep’t always has the power to shut down a restaurant for violations) a business,…
No, they’re not. But they also have much less of a political voice, so being tough on them scores easy points with almost no cost, no matter the eventual outcome.
I don’t want businesses that can’t function humanely to remain open either! I do want the new regulations to be smart enough that they have a path to compliance that businesses can actually navigate, as opposed to forcing them to shut down en masse. The speed of the announcement makes me worry about how well planned…
