That may be fine when they're older, but 5 and 3 seems a tad young to watch headshot kills. And let's be honest, most games seem to be about the shooting and killing these days. Games like viva piñata, animal crossing, the first sly cooper...even plants vs zombies, they'll watch and enjoy. But these games are few and

I have successfully pre-ordered both systems, but right now have no desire to own them. My problem is that I have three little girls five and under, and a small house. Games are so over the top violent, I don't even turn the consoles on anymore.

Now playing

You know where Dueling Banjos originated, right?

I have decent Internet and local channels. If I just want nfl over the Internet, what's my best option?

My wife swears by Charlie's Soap as well. She gets grossed out when clothes have a fragrance to them, and I get that. You don't want a perfume competing with fresh linen fragrance. And yes we do use cloth diapers.

I was at a spelling bee and had to spell loot. I didn't know you could ask for a definition, and spelled lute. Shitty.

I still play Shadowrun on the 360. Gods I wish it had gotten more support. But online only play (and a full price game too) was too much for it. Would have liked to see expansion packs and sequels. I know it wasn't popular with the Shadowrun crowd, but I still say it is Hellafun.

Her got point.

One other thing just popped into my head regarding the knowing they have two more strikes that I just thought of. When you have kids sometimes you just can't corral them, they get hyper and just start running around, away, not paying attention at all. In those circumstances I count down from 5, and if I get to zero

It does work, I'd recommend hunting down the video. We had a hitting eppisode in our house too, I think everyone does sooner or later. I would send them into time out for twice their age, then sit them down and read them "hands are not for hitting". Again, emphasis on not being angry, not yelling.

Yes, I have three kids of my own and face that problem too. The best solution I've come up with is either separating them ( go do something else, come help me with this over here) or instant time outs. Sometimes you realize that you're not counting them, you're just saying stop doing that. in my book that counts as

My wife and I watched a dvd called Magic 1-2-3, it really helped us to determine how to deal with bad behavior. Basically, rule 1 is don't lose your shit. Children want your attention and they don't much care if it's good or bad.

I like it, because while my kids are watching Netflix I can pause it with my voice, and they look at me like I'm a God. Plus, it doesn't work when they try.

If you won't have the discussion, no, you won't be joining me. Because the DRM question affects both consoles. MS seems to want to create a unified playing field where all developers agree to a set of terms, Sony wants to let developers set their own restrictions.

Last I saw I can't say me and my three buddies on one ticket when I go to the movies. Used books also equal lost revenue. Go read about people writing for the Kindle, and see how they feel about the idea of getting their money from a publishing house. The Kindle is a closed shop, but just because it's limited in

People save 5 dollars buying the used game and the result is the developer gets 0 dollars. I think that's a pretty strong argument that there's a loss of revenue there.

Perhaps so. Or maybe game developers end up making more money, which will result in more games....and better games. Game development is getting more and more expensive, but game prices remain the same. So either they expand the market to get more gamers, or get more of those gamers to buy new product vs used

Bah, this who wins the internetz is just hardcore gaming banter, which amounts to not much at all. You think Sony and MS are so different? Tretton just said DRM is up to the publishers, not Sony. Sony now wants to charge for online play. Sony is cheaper, but they're not giving you the Eye or the Move.

I placed an order too, precisely because of this. Truth is I have a huge backlog of games on the 360 I need to finish up, and I have yet to see anything about the new console that makes me want to race out and wait in line for one...but I can certainly click on one and wait to see if I change my mind.
