They’re very likely to release the best album of 2018 and aren’t yet on the tip of everyone’s tongues so I’ll continue to give the world the gift of Camp Cope until everyone finally begrudgingly listens

For me, “Every Country Has a Monster” was the sign that MST3K was in good hands.

The “wisdom” of “star casting” has basically been almost entirely debunked by actual metrics at this point, although there’s also the undeniable problem that a handful of actors really do draw on their own.

For the most part I agree with you, but I also know of tonnes of talented female actors who quit the industry because they reached a certain age and the roles dried up. It’s still systemic sexism but not necessarily sexual abuse.

People have been handwringing about whether an accused abuser (man) should have his career ruined for one “mistake” and yet many people aren’t thinking about the thousands of women whose careers have derailed because of these assholes. I feel so upset for these two women, and know that it happens in literally every

From now on, I think it’s safe to assume: talented female actress + missing career = sexual harassment/assault. Either didn’t go along and were blackballed or experienced something so damaging it drove them to drink/drugs/mental illness which derailed their careers.

Scrolling chronologically through her filmography, Mira Sorvino was lovely in a small role in “Quiz Show,” wonderful in “Barcelona,” won an Oscar for “Mighty Aphrodite,” and then gave one of the best and most underrated comic performances of the decade in “Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion.” And then,

There are recurring characters/developing jokes (how lonely Nathan is, the various “experts” and “professionals” he relies on), but you should probably watch the Anecdote or Dumb Starbucks first just to get a hang of the energy and concept of the show. Jumping straight into two hours of Nathan Fielder with no prep

I, too, was surprised the grapefruit scene and the mother! baby scene didn’t make this list. Honestly, the grapefruit scene would have been my number one choice!

For me, it’s about the timing of that revelation, and the particular situation. It makes a Spider-Man trope feel new again, because you (or I, anyway) buy that this is a new experience for Peter Parker, even though we’ve seen similar things happen in other Spider-Man stories.

Nathan for You, Stranger Things, Master of None, Bob’s Burgers, Fargo, American Gods... Just off the top of my head this list could have easily been the Best 25 T.V. Shows of 2017.

Or dangerous in the way that she could do this to a total psychopath who takes it completely the wrong way and tries to murder and/or rape her.

No love for Off Book? That’s my vote for best new show of 2017. That podcast quickly became my favorite, it’s so consistently funny and inventive. And really easy to re listen to!

Put Fantastic Four in the MCU, keep the X-movies in their own separate universe. There are already plenty of characters and stories available within the MCU (especially with FF) and more than enough X-characters and stories to keep them going separately.

Yeah, who wants to see a beloved entity be taken over by some corporate overlords? Why that’d be like this here AV Club being purchased by some large conglomerate and shifting its editorial viewpoint to accommodate their new corporate masters.

I’ve long given up hope of a future where we don’t live in subservience to a single planet-ruling corporate overlord.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this doesn’t mess up the second season of Legion.

The problem is this has ALWAYS been the case. See also why I HATED and Continue to hate The Punisher and 90's era Wolverine....
