I’m a strict Overhead Press man. I find the idea of the idea of training the Push Press other than for strongman a little weird. Its less good for hypertrophy, its less good for strength gains, and it increases the chance of injury somewhat. It also encourages ego lifting which when doing overhead movements is a

Yes! Hot Sauces are a great addition to a lot of things. Honestly hot and savoury can make a boring meal much better. A little chili powder on a regular skinless boneless chicken breast is great. Also my friends laugh at me as a bad Canadian, however sugar less Maple Syrup or just no cal faux-Syrups are pretty good

Those people are a special breed, don’t follow their lead. I’m lucky, I am blessed with a really low food standard so I can get away with eating foods most would consider quite bland and I find them flavourful. However, for more normal people you need to find tricks to make the stuff work. One thing I’ve found

I find Vitals has one of the better comment sections. Its why its pretty much the last G/M site I still read consistently.

One little addition. If you start including beans and legumes into your diet make sure that you start small. Those things have a lot of carbs so you’ll need to make adjustments elsewhere and a LOT of fiber. Increasing fiber quickly into a body not prepared for it is a direct path to a long date with the porcelain

I mostly do this. I’ve been helping my friends lose some weight over the past few months to stay in shape during the lockdown(s). I know if I told them to track macros like I did it would fail quite quickly, as that kind of stuff is pretty high level even if its effective. So I’ve got them meal prepping.

You’re not a genetically gifted freak on tren? Honestly, social media is so warping when it comes to fitness. Literally EVERYONE who has a following on social media is a freak in some way with a much higher than likely chance of being enhanced.

Wait... you’re at 155 x 3 on the Press and you’re still making weekly gains. Damn man that's awesome. Myself I do volume work so trying to push out an extra rep on the Press is fun.

To be fair having a two rep max on the OHP around 160 lbs is damn good.

I’m in mostly because I love the OHP and think its a crying shame its fallen out of fashion over the years. Honestly, its my favourite lift because its so damn hard (also becuase my fitness journey started with a broken shoulder and rehab I feel a unique sense of accomplishment for lifting heavy shit over my head) ANY

I have some lower back pain issues being both very tall and a person who likes lifting heavy stuff and I was skeptical of foam rollers. However, I decided to pick one up on Amazon and I am convinced. Within a few weeks of consistently rolling my back out the pain started to receed and by now I am completely fine. Now,

After RBG died I unfollowed literally every account that tweeted about US politics in the past (I am Canadian). This involved A LOT of people but worth it as I didn’t want to fall into the habit of doom scrolling the entire thing. Luckily, most of the fitness folks I follow don’t deal in politics mostly so I was able

Step One: Turn off social media if feeling stressed. Your part is done.
Step Two: Keep doing step one.

Its true however as a general rule of thumb the easiest way to determine when somebody is an actual expert and not a fake one is the lack of definitive statements. Experts are loathed to make definitive statements, charlatans LOVE THEM.

Random Person: Do you take steroids?
19 yo Influencer: Steroids!?!?! NEVER!
Random Person: Do you take SARMS?
19 yo Influencer: ... did you say something?

Oh same. Whenever I see that BS on twitter my mind in Homers voice goes straight to that joke.

I’ve developed a fine-tuned BS detector for Social Media Fitness Influencers honed over the years of listening to people (once upon a time) like Thomas Delauer (he thinks eating fruits makes you fat...) and Gravity Transformations. Here are some tell tell signs they’re full of shite.

Hahahahahahahaha okay...

Better yet just avoid deli meat in general. Its legitimately terrible for you.

Haven’t seen Diet Orange Crush since July here.
