I should have separated those points more clearly. I don't see an issue with the practice in general. In this instance it was handled completely wrong by the tech/service advisor/dealer.

As I stated in my original post this is a whole dealership issue. That shit wouldn't fly at my local Audi dealer.

If that's the case he shouldn't have a job anymore.

Nope. This service manager at this Canadian dealership sounds like he's clueless on how the process should work.

Yeah, I'd imagine so. In this case it sounds like the service manager is a moron.

I have several friends who are techs for Audi. This practice is not uncommon at all. A customer complains of an issue with the vehicle. In some cases extended driving time is required to replicate the issue — what better way than to commute in the car. In the situations that I know about it's only been one of the lead

What is the best way for me to steal this car from you without any repercussions?

Well, that sucks. Why now? Final Gear has been around forever. Ugh.

Haha, that was fantastic. And they snuck a 180 in at the end for good measure.

Taking a page out of the Bugatti handbook with the special key for the extra speed. Any interior pics? They speak of '71 Challenger inspiration, but don't provide any shots?

My understanding from comments I heard on Radio Le Mans is that the fan is for a differential fluid cooler.

There was one on display at the Grand Prix du Canada Festival in downtown Montreal a couple of weeks ago. It's a very handsome little car — it looked great in person. It's out of my price range, but I hope people buy them.

Have fun lads. I'm plotting a scheme to get there next year. Hopefully I can make it happen.

Why didn't he engage race mode BEFORE the lap?

It's actually Mark Smith, and he's based in Wareham, MA. The truck conversion is still a work in progress, but the mid-engine MkIV conversion is doing quite well at this point.

I was on the side roads in the same area at the same time that this happened (I live about 2 miles away). The roads iced over fast and were treacherous to say the least. Combine that with oblivious drivers who were probably driving too fast and this is what you get. Fun stuff.
