It's clear that "investment" is not the proper term here. It is in fact objectively wrong, and "investment" means something different than what I was saying.

The rest of this character creation doesn't seem slider-based. A bigger body type for each gender would be two more meshes.

Sure, but that finished product does not exist yet. It doesn't take an exaggerated worldview to consider that something could possibly go wrong.

This is a cop-out. A game with this level of customization is exactly the sort that should have more body type options. Saying "a lot of this is creating a fantasy character" after this explanation sends a certain message to anyone who may dare to think that their fantasy character doesn't need to be slim or "average

Yeah, you're right that it should've been accounted for. Big publishers over/underestimate all the time, though (last example I remember is the new Tomb Raider). The things they're doing business-wise are pretty new, so it's understandable for there to be some missteps.

Ew, hang on. "Committed to innovation" makes me sound like a marketing department. I'm not trying to be a fanboy here. I just think that Double Fine is in a unique place, being an indie dev of its size, and they're making a lot of interesting moves right now. Some of those moves may not work, but it's hard to hate on

Sure, but when that funding is in flux, it's hard to plan. They probably saw a big flow from the initial Early Access release, which slowed to a trickle as time went on.

Tim is one of the only people who could've handled this situation with any grace at all. Has Double Fine overestimated the success of crowdfunding and Early Access? Probably. But so have any consumers who have bought into these games without realizing that any game in-progress could easily drop out-of-progress. The

I've done some gnarly things in GTA 4 and 5, just for the hell of it. My default hangout with friends is causing chaos till death, then handing the controller to the next person.

After Soylent Green, people kept eating.

As a stranger who enjoys your writing and believes that your opinions are valuable and thought-provoking, I would like to express that I am glad you're alive

Great piece!

People who don't want their image of Sonic shattered probably shouldn't be on the internet. Or play Sonic games.

With Brawl, I feel like they anthropomorphized Diddy and DK too much. Back in the Rare games (admittedly a long time and a few developers ago), they behaved mostly as monkeys and apes. Brawl got into some weird slapstick stuff, with stuff like secret handshakes between the two.

I feel slightly different now, hearing that they set out trying to tell a romance story, and I certainly felt the tension before the kiss, but I couldn't help but feel that it was, at worst, exploitative lesbianism or, at best, a failure to tell a story of a friendship sufficiently close to provoke audience emotion.

Looked through comments for some jagoff posting about long hair being a "symbol of fertility"...

Next Minecraft update: sacrifice villagers to make Ghasts leave you alone!

Looks like Mog Chothra.

I would like to submit the idea that being nice is a good thing and that recognizing that you should be nicer is also a good thing. That's all that political correctness is. The only "agenda" behind it is increasing the amount of respect and kindness in the world.
