Bidets are way more common in Italy than in France.

I do think there is probably some truth to his account. Angelina’s lawyer, Laura Wasser is good friends with Harvey Levin of TMZ and there was a recent TMZ story about how Angelina has made this divorce so acrimonious that Laura is close to dropping her.

I remember Jennifer Aniston once saying she was a strong believer in karma. Boy, what massive karma Brad and Angelina are experiencing right now. They exploited every last drop they could out of those kids and the world’s most vulnerable people in an effort to promote their special brand of self aggrandizing bullshit.

That still wouldn’t be a reason to be so public about your mess. In fact, it’s more of a reason to keep it private. Not when their are kids involved. So many kids...

My point is that, in my opinion (of course), Michael Moore’s messages would be delivered far more effectively if he were to get out of the way of them. Let the people’s points come through unimpeded. Present the issues without filtering so much of it through him.

Even though I agree with many of Michael Moore’s points, I have found his movies on balance to be disappointing. If nothing else, he injects himself far too much into the narrative. It’s not about him, it’s about the other people, or the issues. Yet he makes it about himself. He is narcissistic in his own way.

When she was in Australia, making a movie (all I remember from it was that it was a war movie and it tanked), she and her children lived not far from me for the months that they spent here. Close enough that we frequented the same supermarket. Well, the kids and their army of nannies did. Put simply, I rarely saw her

I loved this book, too, but wanted Audra McDonald to be the singer (I love Julianne Moore but I hate lip syncing). Now my dream is dead.

I believe people got too carried away with his charm, smile, and ability to give a nice speech.  That said, compared to the buffoon currently in office, the contrast is striking.

We live in a truly fucking exhausting time.

Making jokes about white people isn’t the same as making racist jokes about black people, or Asian people, or Jews, or gay people, or any other historically oppressed minority.

It is true that when one group is in the majority and wields all of the social, political and economic power of a society, that it is impossible for the minority group to oppress the majority because it has minimal power. Oppression requires advantage and power. This is the nature of systematic societal racial

Thing is, plain ol’ prejudice is no less of a hindrance to discourse than being racist, because discourse is not an exersize of power it’s a conversation between two or more people.

See, I’m cool with a definition of racism that says “Prejudice + Power = Racism”.

I respectfully disagree. I think that your definition of racism ignores the foundation of what makes racism bad. It’s not about power it’s about treating an individual or a group differently specifically based on an inherent trait, namely their race. Generally we agree that treating people differently based on their

Nah, racist jokes against white people are still racist. They just don’t come with all that extra baggage of making a joke out of oppression.  Maybe in the future, take a different stance.

You are painfully stupid and need to find a dictionary.

I’m not an expert, but wouldn’t holding white people to different (higher) standards with regards to “racist” jokes promote the idea of white supremacy?

It is the same technique and the same motivation behind people like Mike Cernovich and his guffawing fans pretending to think James Gunn is a pedophile because of some lame jokes.

Believe it or not minorities can be racist too.
