They DID continue with their plan... here it is from the ArsTechnica article linked to within the above article:
I went to my local Home Depot yesterday after work and they had them on a display pallet in the middle of the floor. There were maybe 40 left. The employees I talked to up front didn't even know they had them, and were amazed at the price.

During a Panamá Canal transit excursion a few years ago, the tour boat’s operators served us all sandwiches from the local Panamá Subway. It was both comforting and disconcerting that the sandwich was absolutely consistent with its U.S. counterparts.
Disturbingly, I have a strong connection to the sound of impact-style printers, whether it is a small personal dot matrix or the big, boisterous line printers. Just the sound of them triggers the feeling of anticipation, ringing back from the days when printing seemed like a quest rather than a side-function.
Andy Griffith was thinking of this problem decades ago:
Granted I’ve never been stoned, I gotta say that watching Bob Ross paint would be something I would think would be a candidate. Especially the campfire episode:
And it will be 2026 before health insurance in the U.S. will agree to pay for it, because they would much rather you go to your doctor’s office for a visit (whether you need a visit or not), who incurs additional cost, instead of actually reducing the overall cost of healthcare (for both the insurer and the patient).…
I'm trying to figure out how a consumer can upload a manufacturer's picture without risking a copyright issue (given that this manufacturer's photos include models, who pose an additional confoundment to the 'fair use' concept). If my lack of a picture disqualifies my nomination, I understand.

Mom and dad's cats love those, but apparently aspire to be hockey players, as they particularly aim to swat them under one particular cabinet in their kitchen. They then proceed to stare down dad until he retrieves the rings just for them to do it again. Oh, and the occasional errant ring gets very purposely…
Ah, I see what you are getting at now that I re-examine the article. Snarky-linking seems to be the game of the article's author, linking the words 'stop fooling yourself' with the Correct Horse Battery Staple cartoon. I withdraw my question.
While I understand your frustration with the seemingly ever-changing whims of Internet media regarding password quality over the past few years, I can't remember seeing a Gawker article refuting or mocking the Correct Horse Battery Staple method, which is the most recent I recall. Can you post a link to the type of…

I just wish I could rock my old reliable TAC-2, but alas, it was pinned for Commodore/Atari and I got rid of it before I thought about converting it. Granted it wouldn't be much good at anything on the market today, but I still miss the solid directionals on it.
Which goes to prove my point, which I may have not made sufficiently clear in my previous post ('go figure' may not have been enough of a hint as to my intentions).
I use Chrome on Mac probably 12 hours a day (no exaggeration) without a problem, however my wife uses Safari, which crashes for her about 3 times a day. Go figure.
We stuck a ball of Handitak on the little light on our Crane. Dimmed it down to barely noticeable.

I remember my mom bought me a book on Chisanbop, thinking it might be useful in my then-beginning math skills. I promptly determined that it read very much like some kind of bizarre cult manual.
I begged my dad to let me order those plans. Never succeeded in convincing him it would work.
A big YES to the Glencairn glass, I keep two in rotation and store them in the refrigerator so that I've always got a clean one at a nice temperature. Regarding water, it is surprising how many different characteristics can be coaxed out of the same scotch just depending on the amount of water. I always taste neat…
