The combat does get deeper, once you get more skills and more partners. There are "summons" too, though I don't think that's how they call them.

Yeah I was mainly talking about 1up's D score... I usually trust their reviews, so I dunno. Other reviews are more favorable, so I'm probably getting it in the long run, but not straight away :-(

Do you know of any place where I can try a 3DS? Do they have demo units at Best Buy or something?

Hm... Brink reviews have been less enthusiastic than I'd have thought... I'll probably wait for a price drop. I'm still eager to hear my fellow Kotakuites' impressions though! :-)

Seeing as most of my collection is CDs, I only buy vinyls if they're not available in CD format, or if they're really cheap. I still enjoy browsing through used vinyls, but I rarely buy them.

Hm, my PC sure can't run this, but I'm still tempted to buy it, just so I can play it once I get a better computer...

I really enjoyed roaming Fuel's open world, but the actual racing gets old fast. I wanted it to be like you said, a game solely based on exploration and discovery.

So did I until recently, they really didn't push the campaign at all. Which is a shame, it would have doubled my interest in the game! The more I read about it, the more I want to buy it on launch day.

I want both. I want sequels that expand on the original in meaningful ways, not cash-ins, and I want new IPs that actually FEEL new, instead of being the same old stuff we usually get under a different name.

I'm waiting for reviews. Is the campaign playable in online co-op? That might just seal the deal for me.

Your comment made me realize that no one ever says his name in the game. Probably because they let you name him whatever you want.

That's still planned for a downloadable release, right? Aaaargh, release date already!

Yeah I'm definitely on the hater side for Dissidia, I think it's just Squeenix wanking while looking itself in the mirror, but they DID release some great handheld games this generation.

Man that sounds like a real clusterfuck. I mean, sure you have time to get your items back from the delivery box and auction house, but they're disassembling Guilds in your server? That sounds harsh... The only MMO I've ever played was Guild Wars, and a big part of my enjoyment was interacting with my Guild, talking

Oh really? Didn't know about that. It feels really different than their other games. The pacing, the style, not what I'd expect from them.

Last weekend I decided to give Guild Wars another go. I've been stuck on a certain mission for months, giving it a try every few weeks, failing and letting it go... But this time it worked out, I found a great party and we barely made it through!

I'm playing through Nier too, about 8 hours in (though I've done a LOT of sidequests so that probably doesn't mean much).

Why would you have to change your character's name? Maybe it's the other guy who will have to!

HAHAHA, I missed that one! Aaaw he looks like such a nice guy :)

Nier is actually really great, but it was only published by Squeenix. It was developed by Cavia.
