@8x10: The mirror WAS pretty awful, but this movie is in 3d, so maybe that's why. I hope.

@monkeybusiness: You beat me to it, that's exactly what I was thinking.

@annieb603: Why can't her strength come from within herself? Why does it have to be some external force?

@WaffleCopter: I don't think people know how offensive that can be. I had some woman tell me "You're so lucky to have such a God-given talent!" when she saw me crocheting a scarf at a bus stop, and got her nose all out of joint when I told her my mom must be God because my mom taught me how to crochet when I was seven

@annieb603: I think Giffords being so tough and determined she can get out of bed less than two weeks after getting shot in the head is miraculous enough. Give the woman some credit.

@Shift5G: I am now officially weary of this discussion.

@Cara02128: She's not skinny white Oprah, she's wannabe young Martha Stewart.

@BAngieB: I was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL, and you're SO right. Florida is not the South.

@Shift5G: The potential for bad service is universal.

@Crim Law Geek: One of my local shops is owned by a big, scary, Viking-looking dude. He's actually quite nice, though, and a damn good cook. I don't know where he buys his coffee, but I know where he lives (a few blocks from his shop).

@banana_grabber: That's an old trick, I learned it from my mom thirty years ago. She'd make a giant batch of oatmeal with cinnamon, brown sugar and raisins, put it in a greased loaf pan and let it chill overnight. In the morning, slice it and throw the slices in a hot pan with a little butter until they're hot and

@Rare Affinity: Jezzies bash Gwyneth Paltrow because breezily suggesting personal trainers and swanky coffee makers to friends who, like yourself, literally have millions of dollars in your household budget is all well and good, if nobody else saw your little newsletter.

@accesskathryn: One can only hope her political "career" gets dashed to irreparable bits in the near future.

@Crim Law Geek: Starbucks is based in Seattle. I am in Florida. Therefore, Starbucks is not local.

"When I use a word," Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, "it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less."

My best friend has health issues and is financially dependent on a man with the emotional makeup of a two-year-old. It's painful to watch.

@Eggyhead85: I do, occasionally, but as a sort of dessert. I don't consider it a beverage. Water = beverage. Plain coffee = beverage. Beer = beverage. Caramel macchiato = liquid candy.

@Crim Law Geek: Supporting local businesses by getting a better cup of coffee for less money is not elitism.
