Being a film producer is almost 100% finding financial and human capital. It’s not as easy as finding a Mr. Money Bags to fund your project. Getting quality writers, directors, and the myriad of people required to pull off a good film is a tough job.
You’re definitely right about that, but convincing people to fund projects is the work of a producer, and he’s proven to be good at that job.
I think with the sheer volume of 30 for 30's there were bound to be some duds. But surprisingly it’s weird stories like the USFL that were some of the best.
