There is no humanity in Snyders movies. The so called heroes are all dour murderous thugs. Whedon at least knows how to write people.

Every time a trailer for this drops (the one from the other day says “trailer 2,” but I swear there have been like twenty), the Snyder fanboys on reddit say “I dunno, this just looks fun,” and to me it just looks like homework.
I am a dedicated fan of the DC Universe. I vastly enjoy those characters than their Marvel characters. But goddamn does the DCEU need to salt the earth here and start fresh. I don’t understand the fans who think these are the ideal representations of these characters and that Snyder’s some auteur genius with insight…
“Every scene is directed the same way, as though it were taking place on Mount Olympus: A wet mop hits the floor like Excalibur, while a sesame seed plummets for a small eternity during an at least relevantly slow-mo (and restored) introduction for Miller’s neurotic speed-demon rookie.”
“Has she seriously not updated her music library since 1983"
As far as I’m concerned, this is the official music video for this song.
“You’re gonna need a bigger butt.”
“Ted Cruz’s Neighbors Must Really Hate Him?”
Sure hope it ends with Scott Bakula leaping home.
Have you read The Stand? If you haven’t I could see this adaptation having some entertainment value. If you have read the book and still enjoy it, I’m happy for you.
I am really happy that you like it. I wouldn’t take enjoyment from anyone. A positive voice is good!
Couldn’t agree more with this review. What a limp and disappointing conclusion to the main part of The Stand. After last weeks episode which was probably the best of the series (IMO), this is easily the worst for me.
My head-canon is that Barbara just shows up for work next Monday, and she and Diana act overly polite with each other and never bring it up again.
Surprised that you didn’t mention the Yankee Stadium guy. For some reason, whenever I talk to someone about this book, we always end up talking about the Yankee Stadium guy. There’s just something evocative about it that hints at a whole world of weird shit that people are doing because nobody is around to stop them…
Prefacing this by saying I haven’t watched the episode yet, but I do wonder if the non-linear storytelling is going to hurt the story. So much of The Stand is the build up to well...The Stand. The arcs are all about how those involved grown and change because of the apocalypse and the choices they make linearly to get…
The little shoe getting dipped by Judge Doom hurt allot.
Yes, the state of the US election.......
They really should see a therapist about why they can’t let themselves feel joy for a few minutes.
Despite the historic nature of Harris’s election, there is a wariness about whether she will fulfill promises to the Black and brown communities that she claims to represent.
I loved this moment. I started to lose it when the music came in to back them and the reaction shots from everyone really, really sold it. Joyce leaning her head against the wall and Murray slowly turning with a confused look was fantastic. This whole series is and has been an ode to 80's cheese so this worked for me.
