I think the issue with the exploding Pirellis was not due to poor manufacturing (remember they’re built to fall apart quickly!) but the choice of compounds. The three options used this race were much softer than previous years. 

That was my thought - who were the camera crew following that week? Really hoping it was Aston Martin or Red Bull.
