Thanks for this story.

Hart of Dixie was cute and fun (until the final season, which I was really disappointed with). I think it’s on Netflix, if you’re looking for a light, fun, fish out of water/New York doctor living in rural Alabama story.

Since there aren’t that many summer sitcoms, I balance out with things like World of Dance and rewatch shows like Archer, Parks & Rec, Broad City. Balancing all the dark violent shows, as good as they are, is my constant struggle.

I’m reading The Wicked + The Divine right now! I love the art, I kind of want it on my walls. It’s pretty much my first graphic novel, chosen at random at the comic book store, based on the cool cover and premise and it’s really working out well.

I’ve been making my own hummus and pita bread every weekend for the last few months. I’ve never bought tahini, so my cost is lower; I’ve experimented with peanut butter and just having no substitute. I think still the hummus is delicious! Yesterday, I did a lime and chili hummus, new experiment for me. Also, pita

Friend and I saw Ocean’s 8. I hadn’t seen any great reviews but we were determined to see it - and it was actually really fun and occasionally funny. I liked it a lot. It was a good Ocean’s movie, didn’t feel like a copy of 11 but is a nice companion. And, contrary to some, I loved that there wasn’t any major conflict

I’m not saying he’s crazy for collecting hands. But I do not want to go inside his house, because I am imagining how you could display a TON OF HANDS.

This crossed my mind. I hope it’s not, but.. if it is her, I’d rather know.

Oh man, I personally disagree. I avoided that episode for years after the first watch because I felt like it was totally “off” from the rest of the season. I didn’t really enjoy it, despite Carrie Fisher and that eternal hippie quote. I miss 30 Rock.

“Monday June” is a hilarious episode. I didn’t see this show until I eventually binged it on Netflix and I wish I had appreciated it when it was on.

For me, it’s s1 e2, “Lawnmower Dog.” It was the first episode of Rick & Morty I ever saw and I still think it’s one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen (watched it for the millionth time last night). You don’t have to know anything about the characters or the universe to get it.

Plus they look too fantastic. As if I’m looking for sweatpants and ponytails in my elaborately unrealistic fun heist movie.

Thanks for the review. My friend and I are seeing it regardless of reviews, because how often do we get stuff like this?! But I’m glad it’s actually fun.

I looked up Escape the Wolf on Goodreads and there’s no description. The first review advises it for “very high profile business travelers and government agents.” What does Patrick Allan do when he’s not writing for Lifehacker? *detective emoji here*

I deeply miss being able to watch 30 Rock whenever I wanted.

Love all of Mary Roach’s books. They definitely teach you something new, are totally accessible in terms of language, and she’s funny.

This is a great way to think about it. Why do we treat diseases and disorders in our brains differently than in the rest of our bodies?

The point is that it’s not an “argument.” It’s just drive-by harassment and insults. An argument implies two people are actually having an interaction, not one dude yelling “bitch” at a woman who happens to be talking nearby.

I just finished this one and it was indeed terrible. The plot really doesn’t make sense. I liked the book-within-a-book except.. it’s just the same book plot with different characters.

It’s totally okay to have strong feelings about it. It just doesn’t seem like there’s an actual harmful reason to de-vein them every time. (Full disclosure: I do it maybe 50% of the time)
