I highly recommend the blog of the costume emroiderer, Michele Carragher. She has fantastic detail pictures of several of these.

It’s absolutely rape. When you’re consenting to marriage, you’re not consenting to all sexual situations at all times with the person you married. And - sorry if this seems like I’m picking on you - the fact that people are still asking questions like this is an example of why I think the scene wasn’t sexist and in…
Can someone explain to me why Sansa’s rape scene was gratuitous?
Well there’s no law saying marital rape has to be in the show, and there certainly isn’t a rule saying we have to hear it happen.
And I don’t understand why people continue to use this as a smoke screen, as though Ramsay and Sansa’s marriage was 1) inevitable within this particular plot and 2) the only way we could have possibly taken Sansa’s plot. I’m not mad that Ramsay acted like himself once he married Sansa. I’m angry that in all the…
there is some merit in saying that they could have hinted at what was going to happen and then cut away so it happened offscreen, imo.
If you don’t fully understand how crowdsourcing works, I doubt child rearing is going to go well.
Pretty much. I believe the status I put on FB was, “Hi, I’m just gonna go throw up forever, thanks.”
That doesn’t matter because it was perfectly clear Ramsay was a bag-o-dicks before he raped her, it was a totally unnecessary plot element. Have Theon claim revenge because the Boltons tortured and emasculated him is just as good as making him watch her get raped without being crude.
What did it accomplish other than show Ramsey as loving the evilz and taking Sansa down a few pegs for daring to try to have power in this world while bearing a vagina?
I’m aware, but thanks for pointing that out as if I’m an idiot. Everyone has different health priorities. My goal in switching was to avoid having a sugar crash so taking in 20-30 extra calories in my one cup I drink a day was worth it for me (this is why I pointed out that it won’t spike your blood sugar). I hardly…
Thing is, Daenarys wedding night also didn’t involve a rape in the source material. Drogo is almost literally the first person to ask for her consent in anything, so the romantic arc makes more sense (and the humanizing touch on Drogo alleviates some of the race stuff in the arc). There's a pattern here...
BAE NOOOOOOO
Your second paragraph kind of shows why it’s a “girl in the fridge” situation; the scene is primarily for Theon’s development and Sansa is just the means for that development.
The show could have ended the moment Theon closed the door, and that would have been plenty to get whatever point they wanted to across. The continuation of that scene was completely unnecessary. Some things are better left to the imagination.
I found myself surprised that I was upset that during the rape they showed only Theon’s face. The only thought I had was “way to make a woman getting raped all about how a man feels.”

I’ll take “Signs That He’s a Keeper” for $200, Alex. Wow.
What kind of life experiences does a woman have to have in order to turn into the kind of person who says "oh yea, every one of those women are just making it all up"?
