People live a lot longer now thanks to things like hygiene and antibiotics, which, broadly, contain such modern technologies as the use of chlorine bleach and antibiotics.

Well, sure, I guess it's already a mega-app, but so far they aren't locking us into a single platform (e.g., Chrome or Android or an iOS app).

I am having a hard time imagining a world in which platform-specific apps replace browser-rendered XML/XHTML/HTML. Apps make sense for some things, sure. But are we really moving away from browsers?

In another study, women were able to detect the dubious conclusions of a male researcher by listening to his Pipitone.

Thank you! My head is spinning. And as one commenter pointed out below, that variation of the N-word is not even a real thing. Really?!

Well said! And very readable!

Is this a totally failed attempt at irony? How does a Ph.D. student make this kind of mistake? Is this some lame attempt at academic performance art? It's all just so gross.

You make such a good point: the male character didn't say anything about her looks!

I thought the character and the scenario were funny because, except for the actual content of what she was saying, the character looked and sounded like any number of very reserved ladies one sees working desk jobs at offices, banks, colleges, etc.

Thanks for explaining that. I was having trouble envisioning the scenario that would have led to that!

Thanks — that was the scenario (along with what Amp has to say) that I was having trouble envisioning.

I didn't see your remark! Beat me to that. :-)

4294967295 = 2^32 - 1. The field is evidently a 32-bit unsigned integer. The largest 32-bit unsigned integer got assigned to it. Why or how? I have no idea.

I hope she finds better clients for her modeling and photography, because she looks great and takes beautiful photos. (I realize she never wanted the gig in the first place, and that is, of course, AA's loss.)

Ideas for the next set of prototypes:

She committed a crime against fashion, but she did not deserve to be kicked off the plane.

Hmmm ... UCSB .... communications ... grad student. I’m afraid I’ll have to withhold opinion until I hear from a Harvard WGS professor.

As I understand it, Color uses GPS to show you photos others have taken in the same area. The problem is that thousands upon thousands of users would have to take millions of photos before the app could become remotely useful or interesting.

I’m sure she plehjaleejances too.
