This is the only positive review I’ve seen thus far. The trailer looked like a spoof done by college kids for a couple grand

Hey Katie you’re a scab writing for a website that a few months back got rid of a bunch of their unionized staff, so you don’t get to call anybody disgraced

This is AVC house style for Woody Allen articles, that they have to make it sound like Woody Allen is accused of Harvey Weinstein levels of abuse when in really there’s just one flimsy accusation against him.

“If there was evidence that Woody Allen was guilty, then yes, I would have stopped working with him, but I have doubts,” the Skyfall star said. “I am very shocked by this sudden treatment. Judgments in the states of New York and Connecticut found him innocent. The legal situation today is the same as in 2007.”

Ain’t that the truth. As soon as I saw the word “problematic” in the sub-heading I knew that’s what this review would be about. Not the episode, which the reviewer doesn’t seem to understand (her comments about the show being boring are testament to that), but just because a gay character died.

I think some of the “backlash against criticism about representation” is about the fact that it sometimes feels like it’s the only subject critics are interested in. This was, by far, the best episode of House of the Dragon. It managed to create a tension the show has been lacking, and ended with a scene where all the

Matt Schimkowitz has a crippling fear of people who once had talent, since he’s never had any himself.

It’s interesting to go back to old articles on this website and see the difference in tone. Many of his movies are middling. He also made some of the greatest comedies of all time. He has some horrific accusations against him. Many people have called those accusations into question. Those four ideas can all co-exist.

It’s a shame Woody Allen has to hear ignorant know -nothings badmouth him just because of his crazy ass ex wife. If anyone would bother to actually look into it, they would realize that he is completely innocent.

If you hate the man because of the accusations made against him just say so. Don’t lie though and act like the disgust oozing from your article is directed towards his films. Cuz if it’s Matt Schimkowitz, Movie Critic vs the films of Woody Allen, Woody wins. Every time.

Nah.  He made some good ones just after that.  He should have stopped at 25 like DiCaprio.

Annie Hall was his 10th movie. After that, he made Manhattan, Hannah and Her Sisters, Crimes and Misdemeanors, Manhattan Murder Mystery, Bullets Over Broadway, Vicky Christina Barcelona, Midnight in Paris, and Blue Jasmine.

Charles Emmerson Winchester III was NOT a Brit. He was very famously from Boston -- hence the uppercrustean accent.

Is it possible to ice out Woody Allen without becoming great friends with Mia Farrow? ‘Cause she cray-cray.

It looks like saccharin dipped in sugar, wrapped in cotton candy, surrounded by a chocolate shell of obvious music cues for when you should feel emotions.

I think I’ll pass.

As is tradition, she will be fed to her corgis.

I’m hoping for “Ralph”.

Oh boy. You just smoke-signaled some of the internet’s scoldiest scolds.

I object to Jenna’s description of the final battle as thrilling — everything about it was totally obvious and not shot in an interesting enough way to make up for that. This is my biggest complaint about this show so far: it just seems like box-ticking and moving pieces into place.
