It’s counterintuitive, but SMBHs are not dense at all. In fact, they’re very tenuous. For example, the M87 SMBH is 6.5 billion solar masses but is almost 100,000 times less dense than air at sea level. That’s something very weird about black holes. Their density decrease with volume.
