I’ve seen docs about Swedish jails and they’re nothing like what’s being described here but perhaps when you’ve been in a brawl you don’t go to jail and are in some sort of holding facility that's more like a police precinct’s drunk tank instead.

Eh, while wanting to go to college to avoid the draft would get them into any college that would take them, would their grades/family finances/connections get them into elite schools like Wharton? I know going to college was less expensive then than it is now but if you hadn’t intended to go at all...

That’s true. Trumpsters often mention his streetsmarts* as if Trump was some high school dropout. That never happens in other instances where you’re speaking of someone who both went to private school and college. They know reports of his intelligence are greatly exaggerated.

Another point worth noting is that this happened during the Vietnam war. Surely it was much easier to get into college when a sizeable number of the young men who would have been studying were serving in the military instead. Those bone spur deferments were the gift that kept on giving.

Agree with your first two points but as to your third point this is the same story being retold again. There haven’t been multiple incidents with this dog- just one- with someone who says they were rough housing with it when the bite happened, so the impression that it’s an aggressive nightmare is probably false.

Yeah, and give her a sitcom to star in, which she accepted so it sounds like it was resolved just fine.

I would add, help out any way you can. When friends move, I’m pretty useless on the day because I’m both petite and clumsy but I’m very good at planning and packing so I help with  prep work instead. I think people often give up on being helpful altogether because they can’t take part in what all the other friends are…
