My very shallow reason for loving the HELL out of Dr. Strange was the costuming.  I just loved the clothes in that movie, they were all fantastic.  I absolutely loved Black Panther for the same reason, the costumes were just a feast for the eyes.

By now I have spent more than half my life not living in Trinidad but I have not abandoned my culture. For Christmas, black cake, fruit cake, sweet bread.

There are many versions of this cake but my family is from Trinidad and this is the type we make:

My family uses both currants and raisins. We do grind some with the prunes but we also leave some currants and raisins whole everything is soaking in wine and rum so they plump up and are very soft so you don’t really notice the difference in the baked cake.

I am a West Indian. We put raisins with alcohol in fruit cake, and black cake. We also put it in sweet bread we make that with coconut and it also goes in pastelles which are delicious.
