See I battle with the idea that the show did her wrong. I think the show portrayed her fine...but misogyny is so deeply ingrained in our culture that people walked away thinking she was worse than the rest.

I always think of this when I see her/that name:
But, like, provincial or Southern wannabe yuppie because there’s definitely nothing cosmopolitan about the army of white women named Kayleigh/Nayleigh/Madysyn/Jordyn/etc. They all have overprocessed hair, wine glasses with inspirational quotes on them and you know they do gender reveals and do Christmas family…
The phenomenon is probably that of the syllogistic fallacy, memorably explained in the following XKCD comic:
GM started working on the ventilators almost two weeks ago and hasn’t stopped. Even if the government didn’t buy the GM/Ventec ventilators they were going to make them anyway since there will be global demand. GM isn’t even the one negotiating pricing, Ventec sets the pricing for their ventilator.
1. Not sure what that has to do with anything. We’re talking about production, not buying up existing units. I mean, that’s great, but it comes after weeks of being a dumb shit on Twitter.
The first two articles are based on tweets Musk himself posted. When the first LA hospital gets their ventilator from Musk, I will believe it.
Umm.... Sources?
GM was in the process of stepping up and Trump balked at the price because he doesn’t have any idea how much things actually cost... The asking price was reasonable for the product, and extremely reasonable when you factor in the cost of expediting the creation of a production line.
I think the difference is that Musk thinks he knows everything due to having one field of expertise, while Trump thinks he knows everything because he surrounds himself with people who tell him he knows everything.
Uuh, I think the title for “biggest know-it-all” goes to trump, with Musk as a close second.
The problem is that a lot of people like him don’t have good self awareness of where the knowledge and skills end, and assume that with some self-directed research they can master any problem, which just really isn’t the case.
The trouble with a know-it-all is you can’t tell them anything.
There should really be a word for this phenomenon. It has always been a thing, but has really blown up with the coronavirus pandemic.
No, classic example of Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
Musk is really one of those guys who hates being wrong, possibly even more than Trump.
History will not be kind to the people in power that downplayed COVID-19. The owner of my company is doing the same thing. He has played the “we’re essential” card, keeping the office open. Everyone in the office isn’t set up to work remotely, they all have desktop computers and desk phones. There are older folks with…
Also twist: “I’m brilliant in one field, therefore brilliant in another after a quick bit of browsing data”
That March 21 tweet is next level idiocy.
Also a classic example of “I’m smart enough about a few things, so clearly I’m a genius who can do everything.”
