Almost like maybe it’s ok to lament all the people struggling in the economy right now, while also denouncing the people out there violating infectious disease prevention practices.

You can criticize business that stay open that endanger public health, and yet lament people’s jobs being lost, these are not mutually exclusive things

And you obviously clicked both times.

Right, Trump who hates everything about the U.N., NATO and just about anything related to the European continent put his absolute trust in the WHO’s tweet. Regurgitating Fox News storylines is not particularly intelligent.

Hell he not only knew it was coming, he was given a book telling him exactly what to do.

The economy didn’t suddenly get better as soon as Trump was in office. Unemployment was steadily decreasing while the economy was growing. One can take a look at charts of various economic indicators for the past 10 years and there isn’t a big jump in any of them to correspond to aboom”.

Growth was sustainable, orange jackass deregulated everything, bullied the fed to lower the rates and cut taxes. Now you need to spend like crazy with way less tax money to bail out the same ass clowns you gave tax breaks. You can`t really lower the rates anymore so you don’t have that leverage to get back on your

They should have been ramping up testing infrastructure, ventilator production, and the like *in fucking January*. Kind of like what happened with SARS, MERS, swine flu, etc. We got ready BEFORE it reached us and were well prepared and protected.

Economy has been growing and adding jobs steadily since 2012. Trump has been surfin’ on it bigly. Who was the President in 2012, oh yeah it was that Bush guy, who thankfully took over after Bill Clinton crashed the economy in 2008 ...

Ok, bro. We get it, keep your political bias and cognitive dissonance to yourself.

He’s bungled this situation so badly he is grasping for anything that makes him look competent. Full disclosure: I work for the company in question. I don’t agree with everything we do, but I am proud that we did the right thing here and I’m super irritated that he is trying to take credit for it.

Trump likes to take credit when it makes him look good.

They are just pointing to the facts. GM was doing this on their own and Trump is trying to take credit for it.

Ventilators cost at average 25 to 50k, I think 12.5 is a bargain

Sounds like ventilators from existing stocks should go to where they are needed right now (like NYC) and the ones from GM go elsewhere to feed the growing need at that time.

I think Cuomo does, that’s why he’s bringing it up. The plant being able to manufacture Ventillators will be a huge help, yes, but it doesn’t help with the shortages that New York is experiencing right now.

“It does us no good if they start to create a ventilator in three weeks, or four weeks, or five weeks. We’re looking at an apex of 14 days.”

They want to spare the company, put all liability and risk on the employees, and when those employees start dying, they are going to push the survivors to start making babies to replace the worker shortage.

So this is what those “death panels” really look like.

Blank checks to Haliburton and now a 500 billion dollar republican slushfund slapped on to the coronavirus relief bill.
