Kind of related, but the gn Squirrel Girl Beats Up the Marvel Universe had a fun video-gamey take on the whole “how the heck do you defeat a bunch of people who are way out of your weight class?” problem and it basically amounted to beating up a low-tier enemy, taking their gear, beating a tougher enemy, repeat.

I had a hard enough time believing the 2016 lineup was supposed to be a counter to Superman, but this group? Unless Deadshot’s got some Kryptonite bullets, they should all be dead in a minute.

Really weird seeing two Arkham developers each announce their own different multiplayer Batman-adjacent game at the same time.

To be fair, the 1984 comparison is more of a riff on the Apple’s iconic 1984 Macintosh commercial. They’re basically trolling Apple with their own 1984 reference they made for a commercial back in the actual year 1984.

In this case there’s also the Crowns angle. You can only get Crowns by winning a match and they unlock the rarest time-sensitive cosmetics. If I was someone who really wanted to wear an owl costume and had zero scruples, I might cheat so I could unlock it before it went away.

I get that feeling. That small bit ofBird That Carries You Over A Disproportionately Small Gap” still makes me feel giddy each time. Undertale’s music gives me such a dang strong emotional reaction for the dumbest stuff.

Now playing

From a game? Gravity Daze/Gravitational Dizziness from Gravity Rush 2. It sums up the entire feel of the game and really gets across the how heroic and high-flying you feel when playing the game.

Oh dang it. I got really excited at the prospect of a new Wheelman game for a second.

The fact that the President of the United States got so mad at TikTok that he sent the video game industry is disarray would be hilarious if this wasn’t an actual unending nightmare that was happening in real life.

I was thinking about this when I was mopping up a few remaining map objectives. Normally I like running around in Traveler or Ghost loadouts, but there are still so many random patrols that I got tired of switching the Sakai armor (it’s just easier to standoff the 5 or 6 dudes or avoid them) so I just stuck with it. It

Oh! I have a local ice cream place that I didn’t know delivered pints to my grocery (trying to shop local if I can afford it). I’ve been trying to go through their flavors lately, even the novelty Coronavirus flavor they put out a few months ago.

I was always impressed that Apex kept a pretty steady stream of content (both in-game and with its online tournaments), but that’s no good if it comes at the cost of the developers’ health and well-being.

I’m not too excited for anything shown (except Everwild and Psychonauts 2) but dang does the “you can have all these cool new games with ONE subscription” strategy is really REALLY good. Especially now that there’s talk of $70 games in the future.

I was just kinda thinking about that while filling out some of my map the other day. Every haiku I’ve had to write has turned out pretty bad. Now I got bad poetry on all my headbands. :-/

I’m torn between this and Ghost of Tsushima. On one hand Ghost looks pretty cool and chill, but a lot of people are saying it’s nothing really special. On the other hand I love the Paper Mario games, but I’m really wary of the gimmicky battle system after the last few games.

favorite story about Sticker Star was when I didn’t bring the right sticker for the first boss in but I beat it anyways by spending a billion coins for extra turn while blowing through the rest of my stickerssince that was literally all I could do and then after the fight the partner character basically said “wow, you

I’ve played a little bit of Hyper Scape too and coming from Apex I thought it was cool but kinda shallow. Like it’s trying to take the “my first battle royale” crown from Modern Warfare but kinda overshot.

Quick question: How chill is the Ubisoft-style open world in this game?

Maybe? I’ve heard discussions back and forth on this a lot the last few weeks. IDK. All I do know is that by bringing queer characters into this miserable setting you’re also bringing a long history of queer suffering and violence in media and real life. That’s the decision TLoU2 had to make. And saying “well it’s

You can think “the misery and suffering of queer characters in the context of the game makes sense” and “we really don’t need to see more of the misery and suffering of queer characters in our media” at the same time.
