With the Dreaming City having recommended levels of 520 and higher, a high-level mechaneer tricksleeve, shotgun, and pulse rifle goes a lot further than my low-level comfort picks. I still keep around gear for crucibles and stuff, but pretty much all old my gear for end game activities is obsolete.

Not only is it impossible to keep your favorite weapons and armor up to specs, but the random mods and stuff means that the really great-looking set of armor could just be way more impractical that the trash-bag cloak with extra levels and ability regeneration.
