Yes i think that missing section of short barrier was it.
Or maybe they built a modest dirt jump in the existing gap- which then got swept away when they hit it?
I hope it’s the latter because hitting any kind of concrete wall- even a short one- would be terrible for their bones

Judging by the height of the other walls it’s about a foot high.Still i agree- that’s what must have given them some lift.

I watched very few of these races. Is there any particular way they’re crashing?
Prone to rolling for example?

I’m tempted to make a joke about australia being accountable for most of the Robinson crashes.
The cattle ranchers over here crash them way too often

Meh.It was lousy but not offensive or anything

Going off at a tangent here:
This reminds me of every time the TV news calls someone a hero.
Hero says “no, anyone else would have done the same”.
They’re both right.
Most people feel privileged for the chance to make such a difference

So i need to ask: is the yoke optional at least?

It seems Japan are still hoping we can make green hydrogen cheaper.
That’s understandable given the problems we’ll have if everyone (worldwide) had an EV.The environmental cost would be massive.
Hydrogen on the other hand can be made from renewables with much less environmental cost.
So in a way the Japs are right to be

Biofuels cant possibly supply enough energy and feed us at the same time.
Hydrogen has potential for almost endless supply when made by renewable energy providing we spend enough to do it.
This engine still solves nothing until we make enough renewable hydrogen but that should explain their reason for choosing this fuel

Oh that’s a shame.I kind of have a soft spot for yamaha.
They quote lack of sales and that’s true, but it’s also true to say they failed.
They’ll be feeling lousy going out like this.

Reverse: Interesting. They are claiming the first use of an in-car (live) camera.
So many times i’ve been told we (australia) did it first but there’s the proof. We were 9 months late!
That wouldnt be the first time we’ve claimed something that isnt ours. We mostly do it with inventions and famous New Zealanders 😅

Rule #1: When crashing, dont end up under the melting metal

This is all true. And you’ve completely missed the point.
Fire and noise=good. We may be heading for a near silent EV future but the caveman in us will always like some drama

Very interesting!
Must the cars be a replica of an older car or can it be a clean sheet design?
It looks like they’re serious about emissions but not worried about having the latest crash safety. That’s odd.

Thanks for that ,i understood most of it.
It’s odd- i remember seeing a lot of articles last year talking about the upcoming downwash wings.I guess they’ve changed the terminology or i’m going crazy (both are possible 😆)
In any case i hope they’re successful and passing gets easier

Ok sorry there’s been a misunderstanding.I’m wondering about the downwash wings they must use this year. The wing design intended to reduce turbulence so the following cars can pass easier.
Is there much potential for teams to mess with them, to neutralize their effect?
I ask because many of the fia’s ideas turn out to

Thank you government for actually doing your job. It’s about damn time.

As for Tesla, why must they be so brilliant and so shit? Is there some natural law that makes gifted people screw up on an equal level compared to their great points?
I dont know why tesla’s biggest shareholders aren’t stopping Musk’s dumber

Do you have any thoughts on downwash aero?
For sure the teams will try to reduce its effect if there’s a benefit in doing so.Is there much potential for them to do that?
I’ve had a surprising amount of difficulty finding solid info about this online

Interesting.
FWIW i think everyone back then thought fusion power wouldnt give off radiation like fission does. At least that’s what many in the press were inferring.
So in that sense the device on the car kind of made sense

It’s a nice thought but misses a big point. The upper body costs a staggering amount if you’re hoping to pass safety testing.
Unless you meant three wheelers? I hear they are exempt in the USA?
