I own two GMT800s with a combined mileage of ~565k miles. Would buy another one in a heartbeat but prices are still kind of stupid for clean examples.

GMT800 disciple here as well. My 2003 Yukon XL has 305k miles, my 2003 Silverado has 265k miles. Both run and drive like new. Sure there are things like the blower motor, gauge cluster, etc that are annoying and known issues but the GMT800 trucks are cheap to repair and generally easy to work on.

Both vehicles do

Physics? If my Yukon XL even grazes a Hyundai Accent, it’s going to be a bad time for the occupants of the Accent. I do my best not to graze Accents.

Big meats on the back? These were FWD drive cars.

Pretty sure I’m still in the greys (*sigh*) but today’s NPOCP is peak 4-Runner for me. The spec, color, even the aftermarket stuff. I’d absolutely be interested at half the miles or half the price. Sad ND.

I’ve only ever seen squatted trucks in North Carolina. A whole goddamn procession of them rolling down 68 near High Point.

This car having “character” is pretty charitable. Also, these are soul crushing to drive.

NP, though.

Eh... I’ve ridden my FIL’s ‘16 bagger several times and just don’t enjoy it. It’s simply too damn big and heavy; I also don’t like floorboards or forward controls. I’m not a HD hater - I’ve put 30k miles on my ‘06 Sportster. I just don’t like huge bikes, I guess.

I absolutely hate wearing a backpack while riding. Maybe this is better than the Northface pack I’ve used in the past? (which has a ton of adjustments). I use a tail bag on a rack for when I need to tote shit.

My 215k mile MK4 Jetta had a less worn interior

Speed was measured with radar.

I don’t get the hate for Lance. Yeah, his dad has mega-bucks but that doesn’t make him any more or less of a driver. Hot take: Lance finishes ahead of Seb in driver’s points in 2021.

Yeah... it’s like someone asked a 14 year old to design a Mustang Batmobile. I think it is hideous.

If this were local, it would be in my driveway by now.

Speaking of Ewan McGregor, if you love motorcycle touring, Long Way Round is a fantastic documentary. If you enjoy it, hit up Long Way Down. Long Way Up is coming next month.

Yeah... my in-laws’ have a modified mid 2000's Honda Aquatrax turbo that makes like 180hp, I think. That thing is scary fast on flat water. 500hp? lol.

Because NOVA... the DC ‘burbs are some of the highest income counties in the country and most of those choads have no taste.

Source: I grew up in NOVA.

I rented a Grand Caravan several years ago to haul a bunch of pre-teens to an event the next state over. It was pleasant to drive and I much enjoyed all the storage cubbies. My wife and I nearly purchased one based off that sole rental experience.

Exactly. While the 5.8l is a great engine in these trucks, the 5.0l is a terrible truck motor. I’ve owned both.

Ha... someone has read the Commune series.
