Addition of water, gas, and hydrocarbons to the oil (through blowby) will have an affect on the lubricity and viscosity of oils, conventional or synthetic both. Synthetics handle aging and degradation better than conventional oils though. They oxidize slower and respond better to temperature swings, but there are

Mechanic: You’re due for an oil change and you have a headlight out.

Do you not do things because they’re only marginally beneficial?

204 miles of highway driving? Not enjoyable.

And I understand that. I just feel they’re past the point of “needing” to partner with another brand. It might take them significantly longer to get to that point on their own, as opposed to partnering with an already established brand, but I don’t really see them failing if they don’t partner.

I’ve specifically studied and lab tested automotive fluid properties and specifically degradation over time/use. I would change your oil more frequently. I can see how it would be hard to justify spending the money that it costs to do synthetic oil changes “prematurely”,  since you only drive ~4k miles/year, but I

Tesla partnering with someone else made sense 10 years ago, but I don’t see why they would do that now? They have shown that they can ramp up production and get cars delivered on a mass scale, and they clearly have no issue getting funding when needed. Tesla owns the electric car segment right now, and they’re big

you WHAT?! What data do you have to support that the oil maintains it’s lubricity and chemical properties that long? You do know degradation is a thing, right? If you drive it that infrequently, I’m going to guess you get quite a bit of water/condensation in your oil and don’t drive it enough to completely burn it off

you’re talking about the guy that drove around with his high-beams on for like 6 months because one of his low-beams was out

As a former tech, I used to get cars in all the time for foul odors coming from the HVAC system. 9/10 it was the cabin air filter, and usually it was because the owner’s had a dog/cat, and would store the food open in the garage with the car. Mice and squirrels will hide food just about everywhere.

considering the border is closed for non essential travel, I’d say “welcome” isn’t very fitting

they did, it’s called a piece of pipe

5th: So what you’re saying is that GM couldn’t possibly be thinking about the tens of thousands of office workers who haven’t been back to their desks since March, or even the office workers who do still have to go in every day to a possibly unsafe work environment?

They shouldn’t have a problem being restricted from other countries anyways considering they think America is the end all be all greatest country on earth and they have no reason to ever leave and visit other cultures. Plus, they’d get pissed when someone doesn’t speak English, even though they expect people coming to

I have owned 6 GM fullsize trucks model years 1998-2006, all of them being over 100K miles. Those 5.3L trucks regularly go over 250k miles with little to no issue mechanically. Sure, the dash’s and doors are all plastic, there may be an odd quirk or two, and they may not be all that exciting to look at, but every day

St. Patty’s Day at Mt. Bohemia is one of my favorite parties. Everybody party’s their ass off at the base of the mountain and then the party always ends up in that giant hot tub. Pretty great time

I guess you didn’t read the article on this site explaining that wasn’t true

ND is windy as fuck in every direction, regardless of which way you’re driving

Driven through ND a handful of times and it never gets easier. It’s always windy because there are maybe 4 trees in the flattest state I’ve ever been through, nothing to stop it around there. You see a lot of houses with tree barriers built around the house so snow drift piles didn’t keep them locked in the house all

And maybe they were already 250 miles into the drive by the time they got into Kansas so they HAD to stop halfway through? Just because Kansas is only 400 miles wide doesn’t mean they started the driving day right on the border
