audio books and comedy albums are essential for long road trips. Anything that you can listen to and pay attention to what’s being said. After 40+ hours in a car, music just doesn’t satisfy the need for noise, regardless of genre. You start feeling like you’ve heard every song 30+ times

I still think you’re a shithead and a bad journalist, but on a cross country road trip, comedy albums and books on tape are good to mix in with your music. And make sure you download it all for offline use. It’s no fun going through a giant reservation with no service to stream music and only 2 radio stations, one

As someone that used to be a durability test engineer for an unnamed automotive manufacturer, along with managing test fleets and test cycles, part of my job was assessing any issues upon “dealer delivery inspection”. Looking for things like bad panel gaps, fasteners on plastic panels missing, hoses or harnesses not

I wasn’t asking why I don’t hate it. Anyone can see that it’s lowered (which isn’t something I automatically like) and I have no clue what you’re talking about with the Civic comparison. I really don’t see that. But I think mostly it’s because it doesn’t look so pedestrian. This stance/ride height is really the most

I really don’t hate this, and because of that, I hate you

what in the holy fuck are you talking about? You think it’s cheaper to rebuild and machine an engine than it is to just replace it? Or even cheaper to do that than replacing a battery is? Are you delusional or just dumb?

Today on Jalopnik: Erik Shilling writes 6 articles with little to no useful information.

Buzzfeed is their dream job

I think a lot more of the “training” is likely for the service techs. They all have to be high-voltage trained and certified and understand the correct way to approach service on an EV

So then using that complaint about EVs is a moot point. If a battery pack lasts as long as an ICE, and it costs the same (battery packs are probably less expensive) to replace, then why would serviceability be a concern for EVs but not non-EVs?

This is some of the dumber thinking I’ve heard this week. Do you also require your ICE vehicles to have engines and transmissions that are easily and cheaply replaced?

if that’s true, you should change that

1st gear: You typed out 45 words that were your own, the rest being direct quotes from other sources, and you still managed to somehow try and shit on GM.

Either way, the cars are being made because the new ones don’t hit the spot.

I dOn’T tRy To ShIt On Gm On PuRpOsE!! DURR” - Erik Shilling a couple days ago

I agree, Shilling is a hack.

Also to be fair, Tesla didn’t really make their own car with the first Roadster. It was a stretched Lotus with batteries. A huge feat of engineering, but not building an entire car

I’m sure GM verified that the One runs and drives down the road before they invested in Nikola

I would have paid before Erik Shilling started writing 50% of the articles on here

Yeah he really isn’t a good journalist
