See, that's how I would respond. Short relationship but one that would ultimately make me happier than making a bunch of damn sandwiches.
If you read the entire article, you see that she is a victim herself who has never stepped foot outside alone in her entire life.
Sigh . . . I love it when someone waxes poetic about the Captain. :)
(For example, "the Jones' family" means "the family belonging to two or more people named Jone," not "the family that has the last name Jones"—that would just be "the Jones family.")
You mean stuff like "keeping up with the Joneses" or "Ms. Jones's cat" or "the Joneses' lawn"? It can sound a little awkward, but it always sounds more awkward (to me) to pronounce them like jones instead of jones-iz.
Well, you'll just be like the rest of your people. You do realize that POC have their own networks and people of power, right? You people overestimate your influence on us.
But writing conventions are useful in that they help to make writing as clear as possible. Williams's is preferable to Williams' because Williams' the singular possessive looks exactly like Williams' the plural possessive (possession by multiple people named William).
My mom was named Lynda. If she were alive, she'd be 45.
Oh, my sister-in-law is named for her grandmother Virginia. She likes to be called "Gini". :)
I think it's funny how names go in and out of fashion. Your posts made me smile. :)
Anytime for the Cap'n. Tightpants or no!
Nathan!! Not enough Nathan pix!
Ha! My own mother AND my mother-in-law are both named Linda.
Oh, I don't hang out with any Lindas right now
Snort . . . you're the only one under the age of 50 that hangs with a Linda then. Honest to god, at my local bar 2 people have grandmothers and a mom with this name. Talk about feeling old! A few years ago flight attendant was named Linda and mentioned she didn't know anyone under the age of 45 with the damned thing.
I feel your pain. No one is named "Linda" - except someone's (great) grandmother.
Thank you for explaining this. I . . . well, just never pictured this when I read the book. I've never seen any of the movies or plays so this was particularly jarring.
What did we ever do to you? Why would you post this?!?
Oooh, I love it. I think she could have pulled off this color if she'd decide between hair color and eyebrow color. She just seemed all over the map with everything.
