i got this game on release, i was excited for a new Fire Emblem.

this functions nothing like a flamethrower, this is just like getting a simple propane torch for burning brush or clearing ice but with a sleek design and smaller gas container instead of a long handle and nozzles with a line leading to a propane tank

As someone who has judged cosplay competitions... this would not fare well outside a beginners/journeymen category, but it does look easy to wear and likely good at a standard 5-10ft rule
