As bitter and cynical about the system as a whole and as much as this is an example of that in that the Georgia governorship was literally and blatantly stolen from Stacey Abrams, somehow she gives me a bit hope. She is inspiring. 

Agreed. If they made it 10-13 episodes it could be shit hot nearly all the time. I mean as long as the writing is there. As you pointed out it can and has done that for stretches at a time. I really enjoyed a lot of the last couple seasons.
