Amen to this. I bought this when it came out and greedily read and reread it, and that was always a much-loved sequence. ;)

Yeah, I deleted my account the day after the 2016 election, and I would really like to know if I could pile on to any kind of legal action against Facebook, which I would happily pursue without any regard for cash-money but just to inflict punishment.

It also shows a young, charismatic autocrat as the hero defeating the evils of revolution with his monarchy. It’s retrograde enough in its philosophy for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia an its rulers to appreciate.

Did anyone else put together the awkwardness when Syd got in the elevator with Ptonomy and he asked her about if she trusted David along with Syd’s comments to David that after a year she thought he was dead and come to the conclusion that Syd and Ptonomy slept together? Cause the way Ptonomy was looking at her spoke

Disco’s opening credits, because of the graphics and the musical score, is one of my favorites of all time.

With their dance posses and the aggressive poses/moves, it very much felt like a Maori war dance-off.

Ah, Rhonda. I did enjoy UUAN! And Elvira, too, now that I think of it. Puberty wasn’t all bad.

I caught that rotation as a kid, too, and they definitely...affected me.

I felt that as a kid, and I feel it to be true now. Popeye is one fucking amazing movie.

Thank you dearly for that link.

No, it could also be horrible taste and/or a lack of understanding of good drama.

Thank you for pointing that out, Mis. I have I’m pretty recent to A/V Club, and that’s great to see. I have enjoyed more than a few of Oliver’s posts and I’m starting to catch up on Shea’s wonderful contributions.

Bang! Nobrow really is such an exciting publisher, one of my favorites. I got some crazy good stuff at SPX. Along with Retrofit they put a hurting on my wallet.

Thanks for the answer, Brad. Good to know. I’ve been following Volvo’s development for a while and was bummed when they made their deal with Uber for all the obvious reasons. Glad to know it wouldn’t be a huge impact in terms of sales.

I asked about the deal for Volvo to sell 20,000 of their cars to Uber to use on the road. If Uber reneges on that deal in light of these recent developments, it’s massive for Volvo I would think. And since that deal was announced last Fall, I’m wondering how much production for it Volvo has already done.

I’m curious how big a disaster this is for Volvo, what with the sale of 20,000 vehicles to Uber for this program. Will the sale go through? I don’t think it’s likely. How many cars have Volvo already manufactured for Uber? Can they just stop production? I feel like they’re majorly fucked.

This looks stunning, and I was completely unaware of it. Thanks for pointing it out and for doing such a good job of it. It’s nice to get actual analysis of the effectiveness of art and storytelling technique in a comics review...I find it’s incredibly rare on these Univision sites.

EXACTLY.

Well done, sir.

Sorry, I’ve been watching Star Trek since I was a tyke in the early ‘70s and Discovery is pretty much as good as it gets.
