I’ve been saying for months that Trump is literally a comic book villain.
Yep. I remember reading a quote from them in an article about them seeking immunity from an anti-abortion measure based on religious objection that kind of made me want to join The Satanic Temple.
To be fair
It’s pretty bad when even the WSJ and AEI have debunked this idea:
Way to take a principled stand. I’m talking strictly about the political calculus involved. Mass shootings are tragic, but not the majority of the 2,500 dead children annually due to gun violence. You know what else contributes to gun violence? Inequality, segregation, poverty, and lack of mental health resources. Do…
When the dozens of Democrats, led by the unflappable John Lewis of Georgia, sat down in protest over a vote on the very important issue of gun control
No problem, my sister and brother-in-law and I just had this same discussion after we got back from seeing the film last night, so you’re not alone in your observations. I definitely noticed the uncanny valley issues, I guess I just consciously ignored it because I was fully immersed in the movie. My nerdjoy at…
Maybe it’s because I watch a lot of animation and CGI and I’m somewhat desensitized to it, I don’t know. Regardless, I thought that any flaws were outweighed by the importance of including the characters for the sake of continuity. One of the main things I liked about the film is that it filled in a gap in the Star…
I thought they were fairly well-done. They weren’t “seamless,” but the tech is almost there and their inclusion worked well in the context of the story. I thought Tarkin was done better, but that’s probably because he is a less iconic figure so the facial details aren’t burned into our memory.

I suggest you read what the SPLC has to say about it:
Oh wait, Kenshn was Japan made and this is Hollywood...
I think I would look to 4Chan, Breitbart, and the Daily Stormer rather than the History Channel to trace the rise of Trump and the alt right.
Personally I think sunlight is the best disinfectant, expose regressive views as the ugly side of human nature that they are. I wouldn’t worry too much about this stuff indoctrinating anyone or that the audience is primarily Hitlerphiles.
Thanks for the link.
Yikes. That sounds pretty interesting though. How did they come up with 12? I guess post-French Revolution reactionaries leading up to Napoleon was a nationalist movement (?), but I tend to think of right-wing nationalism more in 20th century terms.

Unfortunately it’s not just in the U.S. Movements like the Freedom Party in Austria, the National Front in France, Law and Justice party in Poland, the National Front in France and UKIP are all on the rise.
the issue is that the nexus of power and money that organized politics represent doesn’t allow for positions that money strongly disapproves of;
