Ok so here’s the deal. These cars rust every easily. They’ve got a rattly interior and too much power going to the front wheels. Then there’s the somewhat spotty reliability, with garbage engine mounts, a K04 turbo that likes to smoke, chain tensioners that will eventually need replacement, and they run hot because of

I’d say his racing skills...just hit a wall. <yeahhhhhh!>

Are there people out there who still think street racing is, somehow, not a terrible idea?

I mean Alphabet (Google’s holding company) would be the only one that I can think of that has the funds and some incentive to acquire Tesla hasn’t been checked off yet. They have a pretty solid work history together and if they merge Waymo with Tesla to develop actual autonomous vehicles they could start to control

Are you heading down? I’m definitely planning on going, but I was also only about 50 feet away on Inauguration Day when MPD started throwing concussion grenades and kettling people (was just wandering by to check it out and came perilously close to arrest) so I have some tiny reservations.

This is most evident by everything Dubai (and the other UAE states) have done for the past 6ish decades. Take oil money and use it to fund stuff that will make money after oil.

I know.

Their wealth fund is pretty amazing in and of itself. Any country with the foresight to save a large portion of their oil profits in a sovereign wealth fund and allow it grow to over $1 trillion is pretty mind boggling.

Because I want to teach Elon and his cult a cruel lesson. Buy the company , bankrupt it and dissolve it completely. Sell off the assets to the highest Chinese bidder.

told the Parks Service that he expects anywhere from a hundred to 400 people in attendance at Lafayette Park on August 12, just across the street from the White House.

Imma go and throw out a wild guess:

The sovereign wealth funds of Norway and Saudi Arabia seem unlikely, and the notion of an oil-enriched fund buying out the all-electric Tesla seems, uh, weird?

I don’t believe that the idea of Norway’s sovereign wealth fund participating is as crazy as you may think. Norway is (I believe) the largest market market for Teslas outside the US and it would be a way to offset the perceived “bad” of gaining that money through oil by the funding of “good” through investment in

Fancy Kristen is crazy, not stupid.

Came here to post this. Not disappointed to have been beat to it.

And so I ask you, our dearly beloved swath of super wealthy, very appreciated, devoted Kinja commenters: do you know who is backing Musk’s bid?

It’s like I said in another article: Nobody nowadays knows how to write a character unless they’re constantly in angst over something.

Here, I made this to help with the visual. Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!
