It seems like common sense to me that giving someone the option of consuming quality entertainment in their own home whenever they want vs. forcing them to drive to a strange place and contend with schedules and the masses, most people will opt for the former. Going out to see a movie has to be something I voluntarily

I’ve been playing jazz for over 20 years, and the problem with jazz music is jazz musicians. For the most part, they just don’t understand the difference between playing a show for fellow jazz musicians who have a full understanding & appreciation for what’s happening on stage, vs. a show for a crowd of people who

That article kind of makes me hate Pat Metheny now...someone I held in much higher regard musically than Kenny G.

I started reading that and then my eyes rolled out of my head and I went blind and couldn’t finish it.

I commented on this in another thread (I have no idea where that comment is in the Ninjaverse now), but I’m a white woman who had sons with a hispanic man, so even though my kids are half-white, that takes them out of the white category. And I’m okay with that!

A neighbor of mine,. who sometimes I think has more money than sense, bought one of these a couple of years ago to share his garage with 2 Jag XK 120's, an XKE and some kind of hot Porsche. He never took it to the track, just drove it around town when he has feeling feisty. He is kind of thin and not too tall, so he

I used to be worried about the quality of the welds on these.    But after that beard, I have no concerns.

Man, I really need a lot of money...

It’s a scandal because they hired her in the first place to play a darker-skinned character, rather than higher a darker-skinned actress and this unfortunately put her in a position of further contributing to colorism in Hollywood, which is rampant.  She’s not the (main) victim here, it’s the darker-skinned actresses

Heh heh reading the headline I knew I’d find a “I don’t get what the big deal is” comment.

I’m generally on the “anti-anti-woke” side when these sorts of disagreements pop up around here, but even I found the “well this is obviously the worst thing ever, no further context necessary” tone of this article off-putting. I think the root of the issue—emphasis on think; I’m a white dude and I’m not all that

I’m white and welcome the perspective of anyone who isn’t, but in my view it seems like the biggest issue is around consent, and the ability to have agency over the color of your skin when it’s policed in so many contexts. Contrast this with Zoe Saldana’s Nina Simone, and you’ll see which issues are playing out in

The notes of Strange’s theme in Wanda’s coda while reading the Book of the Damned was good enough for me. He’s a hero of another story to come.

I didn’t want Strange to rescue anyone, but I would have appreciated to see him in the final scene, even just to link this to the next place where Wanda will appear (i.e. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness). It seemed to be leading that way when Agatha mentioned Wanda is now more powerful than the Sorcerer Sup

If it makes you feel any better, the music that plays under Wanda reading from the book is Dr. Strange’s theme, so it at the very least suggests he will be getting involved shortly - just not on a TV budget.

Wasn’t the whole point that Wanda was too powerful not to “skate”?  There’s no meaningful way to control her, she can only choose to control herself.

nothing will be as hot as hot mess modern family wanda in her halloween costume in her bed...

Dr. Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) didn’t swoop in to save the day, either. This was Wanda’s victory. Showrunner Jac Schaeffer and director Matt Shakman deserve credit for never losing sight of whose story this actually was. It’s been a hell of a ride, and I’ve enjoyed every minute.

I think the biggest shocker for me in this episode is how well they pulled off the Scarlet Witch costume. Not cheesy or exploitative, but still hot as hell. (Pun semi-intended)

So, no Reed Richards?
No X-Men?
No Dr. Strange? Emma Frost? Nicholas Scratch?

Frankly, the “expert predictions” were so howlingly wrong, it was just as entertaining as the show itself.  But then it got tiresome.
