My commute is about 37 miles round trip, I did have it backwards... Woke up a bit late and was still groggy. In 3 months my office is moving locations where I’ll be the same distance, but will have access to a charging station, so even the Prius prime would get me there and back with no gas.

Let’s use your RAV4 example for my life. 40 miles is less than my daily commute, so I would never use gas then. On the weekends I rarely drive more than 100mi, so let’s say a gallon a week. Maybe another 20 gallons per year for road trips (1000 mi/yr, about right for me). That’s about 75 gallons per year... I think

If we’re talking plug in hybrid, then the Prius is easily the more environmentally friendly of the two. Enough range to avoid using the gas motor in 95+% of situations, smaller battery and therefore less environmental impact from the battery production. PHEVs win the environmentalist pissing contest right now.

I wish I had a non-commuting option. I live in the trafficpocalypse of the DMV, probably the worst traffic in the Nation. When we were shopping for a home I set our housing search based on a 1hr max commute... Our home works out to about 40 minutes most days. My work is about 4 miles from the nearest metro and I’m in

My Dad’s been fighting this battle this year... stage IV generally just means the cancer has spread to other organs, not that it’s a particularly bad version of pancreatic cancer. Typically it’d be pancreas, lymph nodes, and at least one other organ, often lungs.

You should get a tattoo that looks like a little creature trying to claw its way out of your scalp.

When they came out I was hopeful people would find a way to hack the batteries and get more power out of the electric drivetrain, add a turbo for the gas motor. Instead the aftermarket did swaps. Showed where the technology was at the time for performance.

‘And as Toni Morrison said, “B-E-L-O-V-E-D”’ doesn’t quite have the same ring to it.

Bretbug couldn’t decide which direction to comb over his hair so he chose both.

Even if this is their excuse, cadets are supposed to act honorably and reflect positively on their service when wearing their service uniform, not act like goddamn children. None of these men should ever get a chance to lead.

That’s not the black power fist, they're just playing the fist game. You looked so now you get fisted...

Environment has a huge impact on ‘mileage’ as well. 120k seems like a good California/Arizona/Nevada mileage limit, but from the North I’d recommend 80k or less because of rust accumulation... Every job related to suspension and steering will likely involve seized or shot components.

This pretty much confirms what I thought at the time, that Warren not running was a backroom deal of sorts. She bowed to the pressure IMO, the Clinton ordainment was strong. She backed the wrong candidate in the end, and yeah, probably could have been the candidate herself. I wanted he to run before I even got

This is the only reason I'm excited about electrification of pickups.

You consider the possibility of Bernie dropping out and his support going to Warren, but don’t consider the converse. Why would he drop out for her when he’s leading her in the polls? Why wouldn’t you call for Warren to drop out so her supporters would migrate to him? Your argument makes little to no sense... He’s got

“Ass antlers” is the modern socially acceptable euphemism...

I typically get about 250 miles — worst I’ve gotten is 200 miles and the best I’ve done is 315 miles. One of the best tanks I’ve had was one where I’d done a 20 mile canyon run hovering between 5-7K most of the time, so I think the engine actually does pretty well in the upper rev range in terms of mileage, it’s just

Yeah, I did consider that — for a track day or canyon run if you drove the car there you’d likely have to arrive about a half hour early to top off the charge at a nearby charge station unless the track is nearby or has its own charging infrastructure. Still seems like enough range to use the car for its purpose.

If they flop they’ll become collector cars. You want them to sell like hotcakes so they’re dime a dozen in 4 years when Porsche releases the twin-turbo edition and all the existing owners upgrade...
