So when do they plan to make a car that can keep up with a Porsche? Or at least crack 8 min on the Nurburgring?
Half a Gruden, if I'm getting the exchange rate right...
Or a fan that’s sick of seeing all the best players align on one dominant team year after year. I gave up on baseball 10 years ago for the same reason.
First they’ll win tonight, giving all their fans hope for the season, only to lose out. Gruden can’t wait to replace Carr with Peterman the first chance he gets. Doss, the UDFA WR they dumped in the last round of cuts will end up looking like a #1WR for the Jaguars.
And that’s exactly my point, the system is not designed to work that way, and in this case the player empathetically said he wanted to be on the team and play with Carr. Then he pissed away half the off-season and threatened to punch the GM over a $50k fine (which I’d argue the team was stupid to enforce, lots of…
I dunno the Pats are kinda stacked at WR....
Why then would any team make a trade?
That was the right solution, I'm surprised they didn't go that route. Granting him his release was crazy.
So it's ok for teams to trade away assets and get no play in exchange?
Agreed, but they’d have taken a 15M cap hit next year. Still think that would be the”right” move in this scenario.
This is more the NFLs fault than the Raiders. They got introduced to rock and hard spot.
Nfl trade system had been exposed as worthless. NFL should honestly step in on this one, otherwise the whole trade construct blows up.
The lesson to every team has to be never trade. Trade away assets and a guy can just aggro his way out of his contact, then a team not willing to part with assets gets the player on .70c/$. The NFL trade system is now fundamentally destroyed.
The biggest challenge for recognizing CTE in active players is that it’s a symptom-based diagnosis, and the main symptoms are headaches/memory issues and a series of personality changes such as being impulsive, quick to anger, violent, aggressive. Basically unless someone is having active physical signs you can’t tell…
Fan engagement will be great in NE... Meanwhile any team that trades for a player in the future knows that player can sulk their way to a release and pickup by a contender... Imagine if Khalil Mack had sulked his way to a release them gotten snagged by the Pats; why would any non-contender trade assets for someone who…
The (artifially low) hard cap is going to make the NFL even worse than the NBA for premier players forcing their way into contenders, especially later career guys willing to take $5M less. Now that they’ve realized it’s doable this is only the beginning. Gonna suck when all the best players align on one to four teams…
I was pretty much making these points in the least thread that devolved into a tech discussion. Tesla made some compromises and Porsche made some compromises. I’d rather have the Taycan for my money (that I won’t spend on a new EV) for the repeatability of the performance, but the Tesla two pump sporadic superpower…
I only take one solace in one thing as a Raiders fan, the Broncos *definitely* expect the Raiders to play like crap on Monday because as a fan I sure as hell expect that. Brown is supposedly playing so who the hell even knows, maybe it's all a big ruse.
Gannon should have the consecutive completion records. Garner took three steps in bounds on the field. Dude was plenty talented at his peak... Crafty, accurate and aggressive. Too bad dirty hits and injuries cut his late career short.
