I really liked it, and if you can tell from my list, it’s not exactly up my normal alley. ‘Grand Paradise’ in particular just builds and swells and explodes. Definitely something I’ll revisit for a couple more listens as I go back through my favorite albums of the year.

It felt a lot like vintage Kanye to me— a lot of depth to the production, a cohesive sound, strong features, making artistic statements while remaining danceable, evolving the hip-hop sound in unique directions— it got quite a few listens for me. I was out in Vegas during the Life is Beautiful festival and tried to

Sad about Mac too... I was just becoming a fan. Knew I forgot something... The JID album was good. I haven't given the Kasey album a listen yet... I should.

I would say for me in the past I felt like I was discovering who she was, whereas on this album she was telling directly. Love her either way.

Agreed on the falloff, the front half was excellent and the back half mostly forgettable, but those bangers on the front half were more memorable to me than anything on some of the more consistent albums this year...

Compared to everything else she’s done, yes. Archandroid was my AOTY in 2012... Which was chock full of extended metaphors, multi-layered lines, symbolism, etc. There wasn’t any comparative level of challenge to comprehending anything on Dirty Computer, she played it straight and was rewarded with her biggest album

Also, I forgot Neko Case’s Hell-on in my honorable mentions...

Here’s my top 10 “Albums I enjoyed the most” of 2018, since I don’t have a high enough opinion of my taste to call them the “best” albums:

That’s a good analogy. It really has been mind blowing how much better the handling is, how much higher the limits are and how predictable the tires are at their limits. To an extent I think any >$50K sports cars sold in 4-season markets should come with 2 sets of wheels with a set of summer tires and a set of

Really solid front to back and I like that it works as a duo record. The beats are excellent, maybe the best he’s had to work with in 25 years.

Best car I’ve driven this year: my s2000 after I got my pilot sport 4s... I now know how much of a difference a good tire makes.

It’s incredibly sad, dude was so talented, he looked like a guaranteed all Star in that tourney run and I couldn't have imagined he wouldn't be able to score at the next level. I hope he gets a big second run at his career...

Minaj album was kinda bleh so it was a logical omission. Cardi won 2018 (since they insist on it being zero sum game for female MCs)

I was wondering if anyone else would bring up the Ace album... I’m literally on the last track of my first listen through it (just remembered it was supposed to drop and probably already had) at this moment. It’s pretty damn good, I might like it more than Disposable Arts... I don’t know when exactly it dropped but I

I still need to drive the GT and GT350, but the v6 rental special is nice, while the Ecoboost with the spec’d out wheels, brakes and transmission/suspension is a revelation. My groomsmen rented me the Ecoboost for a day on the blue ridge parkway during my bachelor party and it was a spectacular drive, a little down on

The X-ray machine is a little shitty because they keep it in the visitors dugout between games.

I’d prefer he run then exit and endorse early; endorsement doesn’t carry as much weight if he never even runs. Plus, it’ll serve as a passing of the mantle if he’s beat in at least one primary by another progressive candidate before bowing out. Gotta beat the champ to be the champ.

You know an organization is shitty when it wins the contest of “who can hump the American flag the hardest” over legit competition like the NFL.

Reggie nailed his first draft and set of FAs but it’s been diminishing returns for him ever since. 12-4 had a hell of a lot more to do with Carr being insane in the 4th quarter than personnel... I think we broke the record for 4th quarter comebacks that season.
