This is s very fair critique of the recap. I love Laurie, and I wanted to explore what bring her back at this juncture meant for her character and for the show. Next week I’ll focus more on what’s on the screen. Thanks for taking the time to read it.

This would make sense because the tone of the letter the Warden sends to Viedt implied the Warden also worked for Viedt and that the rules were partly his own.

I get the feeling that the cake is just an everyday affair. Dr. Manhattan created all these clones to keep him company, and was just like, “hey, humans like birthday parties, so give him a cake every day”.

Or himself. He may have orchestrated all this as self flaggelation. True he did it to save humanity, but he’s still a mass murderer.

My guess is that he’s imprisoned in Antarctica

You would enjoy her in Fargo Season 2. She’s fantastic as the matriarch of Fargo’s (and implied the whole upper midwest) biggest crime family. She owns every scene she’s in in that tool

Very few people are shitting on it like you are, so you’re wrong.

As a huge ‘Watchmen’ fan, this episode was THE GREATEST. And yet I dislike the approach of this review. It leans way too much on prior knowledge of the comic instead of addressing what’s actually onscreen.

That reminds me of a joke...

Jeremy’s having fun because they’re paying him lots of money to basically be himself. I’m pretty sure all of what he’s been doing in all of these episodes is what he does everyday. Especially the riding around his English estate on a white horse and eating dinner naked.

Seems like it and it looks like he’s trying to make a spacesuit with materials available inside the the biosphere. And he’s also going a little bit more insane every single episode. But at least we have him wearing the costume from the original comics. Zach didn’t for some reason.

dang she looks good. this and legion, comic weirdness queen.

Of course, our world didn’t have Dr. Manhattan making the Soviets nervous enough to invade the Middle East.

Damn, Jean Smart just came in and owned every scene like a total boss. Who knew this is where she would end up at this stage of her career?

Helluva performance from Jean Smart. Obviously, the thermos-sized blue sex toy is the best spot of comedy.

The word ‘deconstruction’ is often confused with ‘subversion’. In the original Watchmen comics Daniel Dreiberg is similar to the more flawed superheroes in more conventional comics in the 1970’s and 1980’s.

By night he’s secretly the superhero known as Hamsterdamman.

So I guess Jeremy Irons is Veidt considering his horse is named Bucephalus after Alexander the Great’s Horse. The only question I have was why all of the other clones wore masks aside from being a twist for the audience?

I don’t know where beloved Av Club commenter Hooded Justice is today, but I expect he’s happy.

Bunny Colvin relocated to Tulsa.
