So “The build-up to Daenerys’ heel-turn this season hasn’t been as effective as it should have been”...
That’s the understatement of the season.

“...and it was a bit simplistic to see her pin her sole hopes for optimism on the idea that Jon Snow still wanted to get it on with her, but Emilia Clarke sells the

GRRM was a Hollywood guy, though? He’s a superior writer, yeah, but he worked in TV long before he wrote these books.

I’d be fine with this exact ending if it had been written better. It’s not WHAT happens that rankles, but WHY. The journey to these conclusions seems contrived.

“Danny I’m killing my eyes. Killing my eyes. Danny. Killing my Danny. KILL DANNY.”

For some reason, I suddenly feel like I need to send the Russo brothers a hand-written letter thanking them for sticking the landing with “Avengers: Endgame.”

That’s always been something that amused me with much love Khal Drogo got - it’s a charismatic performance by Jason Momoa, but he is every bit as evil as Ramsey, Joffrey etc. This is the speech where he promises the help Dany get her throne
And to my son, the stallion who will mount the world, I will also pledge a

All jokes aside, I’m ok with most of the episode. The Mad Queen is fine. I don’t get too worked up about battle logistics and logic, etc. What DOES bother me though is how much this episode kinda just ruined Cersei’s arc. They built her up as basically the main big bad. You got invested in her one way or the other.

Hate to break it to you, but when cities were sacked in that era, that’s what happened.  It’s practically half the reason the soldiers showed up.

Arya getting to that horse took so long I thought a Baby Groot version of the Night King was gonna jump out and get revenge.

You know what? I was kind of OK with it up until that fucking white horse.

I guess they patched the show this episode and nerfed those OP ballistas. I wonder if they’re going to nerf Drogon next episode. I doubt he’ll be happy if they kill Dany.

I’m pretty sure it’s been well established that the Dothraki are very much into raping and pillaging.

Hot Pie is still on the board...

Lot of special effects. Not so much the main cast? And do they use gunpowder in the mortar of the city walls?

The gal/guy that is playing Dani is hooking up with the DM. Best way to boost your character.

You see, Euron and Team Cersei used up all their hit points last week with the scorpions which explains why they couldn’t hit shit this week. And Dany. Well she had the most epic dice roll ever which boosted up Drogon to his max so he could take out basically everyone by himself. It’s all perfectly logical.

I don’t want to be reactionary, but my gut instinct is that I hated the creative decisions here. Sure, there were always hints of “Mad Queen” along the way, but 8 seasons of learning how to lead with empathy and caring...for that ending? 8 seasons of compassion and benevolence thrown away because Jon is a Targ and

Looks like they came down with the "fuck its"

Good Heavens. Enjoy ruling your lifeless pile of ashes, Dani.
