Want to feel old? The Firestone recall was 19-20 years ago. There are probably kids who are driving around in their first car—a fourth-hand first generation Ford Explorer—who weren’t even conceived when the scandal broke.

Oof. That’s right. Thanks, totally misremembered.
The F1 taking 1-2-3 at Le Mans makes it far more impressive to me.
I’m going to miss your writing and hot takes so much. You wrote (or starred in) so many of my all-time favorite pieces on this site. Thank you so much Fancy Kristen, for the (correct!) take on not touching other people’s fucking cars, and, above all, for showing me that, not only am I not mentally defective for…

If they’d pivoted from selling overpriced headphone cables into supplying Arduino microcontrollers and 3D printer…
Thanks! And for what it’s worth, I really enjoyed reading this article. I haven’t yet made it out to a Radwood, and so reading your writeup let me experience it vicariously for a few paragraphs.

Me, an intellectual: “How ridiculous. Surely no insurance company would fault a company for closing or cancelling an event right now.”

For some additional context, the difference in handling from Formula One and Formula E was covered by this episode of the Inside Electric podcast.
