Sure, the physical unit price but not the total life time price. Canada already has the infrastructure, mechanics, component manufacturing and knowledge on the Hornet frame, but not the F35. That knowledge/infrastructure base is almost 50% of the aircrafts’ cost over its life time.

sure, cannot feed its people, but sure as hell can lob enough weapons into South to kill scores there. The North knows it has no end game, its an all or nothing approach. Plus, “hey you’ll get to eat lots of food once you’re in the South” can be a huge troop motivator.

I wonder if the Canadian purchase of these will include the Carrier package? The current F18s here have the carrier landing package due to our requirements to land on highways/temporary runways. If you could get the S660 here in Canada for its $16,000 sticker price, I think you’d get a lot of people not caring about the power to weight.
