I haven’t formed an opinion yet because there are no details. Will I be mad if Game Freak drops Spoink, Delibird or Spinda? No, not really. It just depends on what the extent is.

The “never” part is unlikely but based off of all of the info they have given the soft-delete is accurate.

I think you should lower your expectations. If they were going to delay adding all of the Pokemon to the game they would have said that. If that is indeed what they meant then they made a monumental mistake and I think they would have walked it back or clarified by now. The fact that they haven’t is pretty telling.

Game Freak delayed Pokemon Bank functionality for Sun and Moon by a couple of months. They also made it clear, at the time, that full functionality was coming. This is different. They are clearly saying that not all pokemon will be playable in sword and shield.
