This is good news that Smith plans to run on her own merits, and I hope the DFL rallies around her. Amy Klobachar, too. The two points Clinton margin doesn’t really worry me because in an apocolyptic year where Democrats lost almost every close state, they still didn’t lose Minnesota. That doesn’t mean Minnesota is a

This is how you turn a shit sandwich into a hotdish!

It’s on my list of books to read that I’m not sure I will read and am on the fence about. People seem to really like it or really hate it.

There’s a whole lot of hyperbole in this article regarding “brilliance” and “talent.”

The Girls? Yeah it was like Mary Gaitskill light, without any of the specificity to make the characters feel real. Also it didn’t hold up after listening to the You Must Remember this Manson focused season a few months before reading it. (Also I don’t want to read any variation or factual retelling of the Manson story

*ahem* Lived in LA until this past Friday and DVR’d it. Now I’m on the east coast (North Carolina) and still DVR it for night viewing. This way I not only get to fast forward through commercials, but also the repeat segment at 8am AND when I get annoyed with the conversation. I actually popped on Jezebel after

It sounds like rhubarb pie might’ve been involved.

I have a teenager, and I can tell you that you don’t have to be Mommy Dearest to have your kid sullenly trailing behind you.

I was a baby when Exile In Guyville came out but I knew who she was in my preteens because “Why Can’t I” was all over the radio. Anyway, I discovered Exile in Guyville a few years later and fell in love with it. It’s a masterpiece.

HOLY FUCK I THOUGHT I SAW HER.

I really appreciate the sincerity of your question. (That sounds snarky, and it’s not intended to - I really do appreciate it.) Nail art feels very juvenile to me - I really hate the whole grown-up princess, I’m just a big kid at heart, look at me and my nails with pictures on them, I still love unicorns and Disney

Yeah I view how you wear your nails kind of like jewelry. Some people load it on, others don’t wear any, some love big statement pieces, others go for understated and classic. You can hate someone’s taste in jewelry like you can their nails I guess, but to paint the entire thing as awful seemed extreme. Wasn’t sure

Considering the person calls nail art a trend, they were probably unaware that nails got more than a couple coats of paint until the majority population became aware of nail art.

Those particular nails are way over 20 years old, this “trend” isn’t going away anytime soon.

Out of curiosity, why do you loathe?

That movie is creepy AF.

For those not old enough to remember, believe me when I tell you: This crime spree (including but not limited to the Versace murder), was the CRAZIEST thing at the time! It went on for weeks and weeks and back then, it was like the weirdest, most bizarre thing you could imagine. Everybody I knew was RIVETED!

It’s 70’s horror. Rosemary’s Baby even has similarities in plot and theme.

I appreciate this breath of fresh air. The woes of middle aged disillusioned men are a frankly underexplored theme in literature and film. I look forward to what will doubtless be a unique insight into this marginalised perspective.
