I love everything about the first one. The '70s takeoff on art deco, the Clockwork Wonders (so wonderfully creepy and unsettling), the horrible face of Phibes under the mask, the lurid deaths (the nurse and the locusts especially come to mind, but the frog mask and the carnival horse are also amazing). Just terrific.
